For a while a few years back, THE COMICS JOURNAL was posting these audio interview excerpts on Journalista! about once a month. They stopped doing it after awhile, but I think they should bring it all back in this age of podcasting.
Could not agree more Aug.
TCJ had a 3 part hour plus interview with Bill Gaines... R Crumb and Gil Kane in deep conversation at a con panel from years back...I'm pretty sure there was a Kirby interview as well.
It's one of the reasons why I started WB.
I heard those shows, Fanboy radio, Jonah's talks with Joe Casey John Ostrander & Greg Rucka (which I think can still be found somewhere on this site), and felt that I could do a similar show on a website and get people to check it out.
3 months into the game, someone explained the process of podcasting to me, and I've been doing my conversations that way ever since.
"live interviews" are much more revelaing of an artists ideas and personality.
i'm glad podcasting allows creators to speak in their own voice as opposed to the necessary filters and editing of written interviews.
