I don't like gin. Euchre I like, but never played it online. It's the social aspect of euchre that does it, y'know? Like Pitch, which I guess is big in Indiana.
Oklahoma Gin is my game but I have been playing at least with my dad since I was a kid.
Yeah I agree on Euchre. I am only still learning it, like every bar here has leagues.

I'd never even heard of pitch until a friend in Cincinnati dragged me to a game in Indiana. Rural farmers, playing a blind draw tourney for decent cash to bide the time in winter. Canny bastards, they are.
When we are desperate for gambling we always play Big Two(Pusoy Dos, a ton of other foreign names). Its easy to have a deck on you when you go to the bar.

I went to catholic school in East Stroudsburg, PA from 4th to 8th grade and I never heard of the Frazetta musuem. that's sad.
It wasn't open then. It opened after I graduated from college, so sometime after 2001.
Oh, I got it. I was merely following up with an opinion, because I know it is pissing off Ed.

You have said nothing I disagree with. You just have to tread carefully on nerd forums when knocking genre fiction.
The thing, though, is that I don't think they're using genre trappings to hide the weakness in their writing--I think, instead, they're not writing but, rather, playing with toys that make their peepees hard.Which of course, is a shitty way to learn to write.
Seeing the word 'Ploog' in that sentence is about the only thing that would have gotten me to keep buying the book.
Good call, indeed. We need a Ploog adjective.

Um, no.
CELL was about an aural pulse that went out over every single cell phone on the planet that when heard, basically rebooted your brain so you were reduced to your basest animal instincts (a la Zombies). Survivors get together and adventure ensues.

I watched the first episode of Pushing Daisies last night before bed.
Yup, that could definitely do it. It is indeed an awesome show!
I think the main guy has a Mulderesque/Duchovny appeal in that he's not conventionally good looking, but the more you see him the hotter he gets. Towards the end of last week's episode it just hit me that he's pretty hot and that I think I might have found my new tv boyfriend.

The part with the dog kissing Kristin Chenowith after her song made me laugh out loud, and I rarely do that while watching or listening to something by myself.
Oh yeah, the whole song was hilarious. I really love that show, which means it is doomed to be cancelled around episode 6. Its nice to see Barry Sonnenfeld getting creative again. My only negative so far, is that the main guy shows absolutely no emotion in his face, its like he has a robot face.

Can't seem to find the friend and/or game invite.
Darn you, facebook.
I just invited you and Jason Light (ha!) to a game. Let's see if we can make a three-person game work.

You are getting awfully lucky that my letters are terrible, but you have opened up two triple word score spaces to me. Play this like Othello, where you never want to give up corners.

The news media just coined the phrase "superbug," and I'm all ready sick of it.

It's not a new catchphrase. It's been used, in one context or another, for years now, though not always/consistently in reference to the same "bug."

I hate it when somebody tells you their real name and then it turns out to be something else, like "Richard" or something. What's up with that?

I'm sure there are dozens of words you can make from those letters.
In some Polynesian languages, anyhow.

Substitute the J for those and you would see what I had against you as well.

I guess it's been awhile since we've talked names, but yeah, first name Richard, middle name Tadhg. Richard is boring, and Tadhg has the added benefit of keeping coworkers from easily googling me and turning me into a Google Zombie BPDG-style.

Too pronounceable. I like to confuse the Kentuckians.
I used to play a lot of cribbage. My Dad taught me and then I got schooled by a shark of a Great-Aunt of mine. Probably my favorite game after poker.
Oh, god, I played a good bit of cribbage in college. Thought I was pretty good, too. Found out I was just a pigeon to be fleeced when the money hit the table.
I financed my vices through university playing cribbage and backgammon (especially acey-duecy) against my dorm-mates.
Haven't played in years though.

All this time I thought you were some nerd version of a hep cat. Now I find out that you're an office clone named Richard. I feel so...violated.
Doesn't anybody tell the truth online?!? What's next? Is somebody going to turn out to be gay or something?!?
