I became a fan of The Creeper thanks to his ep on Batman TAS and I just found out the mini series that retells his origin, Welcome to Creepsville, is going to be in tpb.

So to anyone that has read it is it a good read for a fan of the TAS Creeper or should I avoid it?

It's a fresh take on the character by Niles, and Justiniano's art is pretty haunting, especially the scenes where The Creeper takes over Jack Ryder, but the real classic Creeper stories are Ditko's originals. Don't think they ever collected them in a trade or Showcase or anything, but if you can track some down, read 'em. Niles' version is a modern retelling/mild retcon to his origin.

The mini series was total dreck.

Go for the Ditko issues and the Gil Kane ones too.

Love the character, but I wish they could figure out a way to use him effectively in the DC universe. The recent mini started off okay, but after the 2nd issue it started to go downhill for me. The updating aspect of the origin wasn't bad, but I found the story to be kinda bleh, especially when the Joker became involved in the second half.
I was kinda hoping he would be joining the new Outsiders, but it looks like he'll fall into character guest-star limbo.

I loved the mini. It was cool to see him modernized and used but I agree with people saying they need to find a use for him.

Jesus !@#$ing Christ, who gives a !@#$ about continuity? Especially something as throw-away as that horrible Eclipso mini-series event. A black mark that could stand to be stricken from a couple D-listers records, Creeper and Nemesis included.

As I may have mentioned elsewhere (I can't remember), the Creeper shows up in a couple of early issues of the JLI by DeMatteis/Giffen, conveniently collected in a trade being resolicited as we speak.

He's hardly the star of the show, but he's fun, and I think he appears later on as well (I can't remember offhand and I don't have the issues in question.)
