Anyone who's been into comics a long time knows the hatchet job Marvel did to the Ultraverse line before taking it out of its misery and killing it.

But what if DC had bought the comic line instead?

How do you think DC would have managed the Ultraverse characters; better, same or worse? Would DC have kept that universe separately (like the Milestone or Image line) with an occasional cross-over or integrate the characters into the DCU (like the Charlton characters)? [Would the 'teenie-bopper Mantra' disaster be averted?]

If they merged the Ultraverse characters into the DCU what possible teams would you like them to join?

What team-ups/ cross-universe cross-overs would you have liked to see (besides the obvious Capt. Marvel/Prime, Batman/Nightman or Zatanna/Mantra {a Constintine/Mantra would be interesting though})?

Given DC track record I think it would have treated the Ultraverse pretty well leaving the universe separately with an cross-over every now and then.

d.c does do a half decent job merging other companies characters into their own universe, I think they could have made it work. Look what they did with wildstorm. It's not great, but it's not bad. Marvel did a hachet job with Malibu. It's like when WWE brought back ECW, and it's now complete crap.

DC has a much better track record at intergrating other companies into their overall line. Honestly if DC had bought Malibu I think it would have been a good fit in the Wildstorm Universe.

And maybe Night Man wouldn't have become a knife-wielding Druid. A guy can dream, can't he?

Wildstorm isn't doing very well right now. After Infinite Crisis, it looked like DC was putting some serious talent on the Wildstorm books, but lately they seem to be more focused on the main DC product line.
