Who was the Green Lantern for the sector of space where Krypton was? What was he/she doing when the planet exploded? Has anything like this ever been done?

anyway here's my idea:

Sinestro corps is winning, there are only a handful of GL's and Hal is being taken captive. there is a prophecy that states that an unusual creature will save the corps from annihilation... and that creature is DUCK DODGERS!!! the Return of the Green Loontern!
