View Full Version : A note about the Nominations process...

Since I posted the list of qualifying contestants, I've received some e-mail and PM from people asking if we'd reveal who else or how many others were nomintated, as well as which judges nominated which artists.

The nominating judges have been asked not to reveal which artist or artists they nominated until after the contest is over, and it is up to them whether they want to reveal that information. I don't want this information to distract anyone (competitors or voters) or influence them in anyway during the contest or voting process. And since we leave it up to the judges to speak publicly about this or not, I don't want some artists to get more "air time" over others during the contest.

As for who else got nominated or almost made the cut, there are four others who get nominated and they will receive "honorable mentions" in my next blog about the contest. And yes, these artists have already heard from me.

Thank you for your understanding.

Man, I was hoping for at least and honorable mention, but apparently I didn't even come close.

hah, me too.

I didn't even win the "Guess the 10 Finalists" contest, and there weren't that many entries.

Hard dose of reality, man. Rough week.

Ha!

I didn't get honorable mention either, but thankfully I DID guess 5 of the 10 who made it :D

I'd gladly trade my free reading material for an 11th spot though.

At least you're able to say "hey, at least someone saw my work and liked it".
Being the last entry in the competition, I almost wonder if anybody even looked at my stuff at all. ^^; But, according to what J. said in another thread a few days ago, even if they did, apparently I don't have enough material there to even consider.
I don't know if I failed in content, presentation or all of the above. Probably never will.

NOT THAT IT MATTERS AT THIS POINT...

Nothing left to do now but to soldier on and put on the best possible showing I can in the A&W forums come Play at Home time. I might have failed to make any waves before September 30th, but I'm gonna do my damnedest to make sure that changes before October 30th!

Don't be so tough on yourself guys! I'm pretty damn happy for the 10 who made it, and I'll be learning a lot from the comp, and you should do it too. Maybe in CI4 we'll be better prepared and have the goods required.

I don't feel too bad for myself either, considering 3 of the 10 finalists had high-profile professional experience as storyboard artists.

By CBI4, I will totally be a judge, like Micah. >:O

They warned us early on that the skill level was far higher this year than ever before...
