I'm almost as pumped for this as I was for the Roger Stern issue of The Atom that came out this week, and I was so pumped for that I ruined my pants. Hopefully I'll just ruin my underwear for this one, 'cause I can't afford to be seen with soiled pants in my comic shop two weeks in a row.

I can't remember the last comic I was looking forward to the way I'm looking forward to the return of Captain Carrot.

I think I just figured out why Starro is involved in this, but I wait for the series to play itself out to see if I'm correct.:D
Because I can't wait to see this and Shaw's Art. :D

FOUR days and counting!
I think the last time I was this excited about the start of a new miniseries, it was JLA/AVENGERS # 1.

And if a wait of four days is too fantastic to fathom, Carrotheads, there is a five-page COLOR preview to tide you over....
Can you wait until the issue hits comic shops? Or must you click below this very afternoon?
If you're on the farm fence, the preview does include the SANDY EGGO COMIC-CON two-page spread -- now in COLOR!!!

Holy crap, that was awesome. I think moose cosplaying as Sailor Scouts should be mandatory in any book. Man, I can't wait for Wednesday.

Haven't you ever heard of "Sailor Moose"?
Bill Morrison and I have concocted dozens of this sort of gag on that Page 2/page 3 spread, but thought it'd be more fun to let the readers find 'em rather than call attention to them ourselves.
So what does anyone else think about the 5-page sneak peek? Please, spread that link around to anyone you think will dig CAPTAIN CARROT AND THE FINAL ARK!
Aloha,
Scott!

What great comics did I first read when I was a kid? Amazing Spider-man? Fantastic Four? Batman? No.
I read an issue of Captain Carrot and his Zoo Crew. Not to mention a few issues of SCrooge McDuck and one issue of Solar: man of Atom which I will officaially call my first ever superhero comic. Sorry, Captain Carrot.

Let me see, now...Three Days and counting...Two Days and counting....
Ah, here we are...
ONE DAY and counting!
Surely I wasn't the only one who wondered what might happen if this little ol' countdown was not played out to completion, right? What if the first issue couldn't actually arrive in comic shops until someone did come back here and complete it? I'm just covering all the beaches, as I don't know what the depths of Starro's powers will be this voyage to sea.
And speaking of Starro, with 1 day left before the FINAL ARK arrives in dock, and with SHOWCASE PRESENTS: CAPTAIN CARROT having been postponed, today's itinerary can include a recap of The Conqueror's first encounter with The Captain and His Crew!

As I look out towards my local Indian Lake this morning and imagine Starro perhaps lurking somewhere below, and having just watched Arkoff's THE SHE-CREATURE this past weekend, I can't help but think of Metallica's "The Thing That Should Not Be" right now (a song about Cthulhu).
He watches/
Lurking beneath the sea
....
He searches/
Hunter of the shadows is rising
Guess I'm showing my age, but that's the sound of the ocean I "heard."

Okay... just wanna be sure before I get all excited about tomorrow. Is Columbus Day gonna screw with this week's comic delivery?

Yes, can someone please confirm this, I'm excited about this Wednesday and would hate to have the books delayed.

Well, judging by the thread in the DC forum and the shipping dates on Zeus, I guess they are coming out tomorrow. Take that, Columbus! Ya' hack!

And, and speaking of Joe, he's led a conversation/interview about CAPTAIN CARROT AND THE FINAL ARK with Bill Morrison and myself for our friends at Comixology. You can acccess the "It Came Out On Wednesday" podcast at:
