I wonder if Blackwater got the idea of writing their own investigative reports from UPI and AP, who use soldiers in Middle Eastern wars as stringers without labeling them as such until they're actually and incontrovertibly caught in the act of doctoring the news, and present them as if they are impartial and truthful?

Dunno, but Blackwater is scary if it's the model of future privatized military.

Some things should not be privatized.

Dishonorable and bloodthirsty cowboys.

Kind of like the Enron boys and privatized energy. "People hurt? F em."

I think Congress should grant letters of marque. (and yes, I know they tried a couple of years back)

Note that I am not defending Blackwater. I am attacking AP and UPI.

I got that, but it was little too subtle. I didn't catch more than the drift.

It's called lazy journalism. Why actually go out and investigate something when there is someone else ready and willing to give you a story.

And honestly, no one reads/watches the news anymore so nobody cares. It's sad, but that's what's become of us.
