I haven't seen anyone else mention it, but if someone did and I missed it, forgive me.
I am predicting that during the Invasion storyline, Marvel will reveal that a major player/possible savior for humanity in all this will be Triathlon or (more likely) the original 3-D Man. Why? Because in his origin and first stories, it was stated a couple times that one of the 3-D man's powers was that he could SENSE the presence of Skrulls no matter what disguise they wore.
Think about it. :-)

I thought 3D's power was being able to split into three.

Anything is possible, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. Not without a name and costume change, anyways. Besides, Skrulls have had 50 years to work on their anti-3D Man technology.

Well Marvel has placed an unknown/underrated hero as the center-piece of a story before...think USAgent in 'Maximum Security'. So I guess this isn't too far-fetched.

And there is Conquest, though Phyla and Starlord had exposure from the last Annihilation event. Personally, I doubt that Bendis would use the 3D-Man as the center piece of his story. It will probably be the Avengers, and the Fantastic Four. But I would like to see him use the 3D-Man, though hopefully not in the same way he used Layla Miller in House of M.

I forget the details of what Busiek did to him later, but the 3-D Man's original thing was that he was the spirit of a dead man imprinted on his brother's red and green glasses and would appear in times of trouble, armed with 3 times the strength and speed of a normal man and with his senses three times as sensitive, PLUS the ability to detect Skrulls (I guess because his DNA somehow remembered that the Skrulls were indirectly responsible for his powers or something :-P).
