Had to go with Strange cause can't really see any other Mystic leading the group, he is the one person who all the magic based heroes in Marvel would listen to.

I honestly don't see Tony Stark supporting a magic group. Magic is one of the few things that he doesn't really understand and can get past all of his defenses. If anything, I see a new version of witch hunts happening in the near future, with no magicians being recruited into the Initiative, and its practice or study being outlawed under the terms of the SHRA (if it's not going to be used on an Initiative team, then it can't be practiced).

That said, there should probably be a magic team to help defend against the threat that Dormammu poses every few years, and it would probably have to be an underground/rebel team for the reasons stated above. That said, I would go with:

personally, i'd like to see it resurrect the old midnight sons. to wit :

1) Johny Blaze - separated from Ghost Rider - he investigates to discover why GH is using his name - possesses mystical shotgun and motorcycle
2) Sam Buchanan - former Interpol agent - marksman
3) Ilyana Rasputin - mutant sorceress, powerful in Limbo, but weakened on Earth
4) Jinx - magically proficient street kid - has minor powers but mostly channels powerful forces, more of a student to others
5) Topaz - powerful witch, focus on empathy and healing
6) Ian McNee - powerful mystic, focus on elemental magic

I'd focus the book on the division and gathering them. McNee, Topaz and Jinx have powers and are happy to use them. Rasputin and Blaze have powers, but they don't want them. Buchanan has no powers, but he is dedicated to fighting the unknown now. Set them up in a northeastern state focusing stopping Lilith from raising a new batch of demons. they unite to fight off Lilith. Then split into several groups and investigate her coming.

7) Frank Drake (consultant) - descendent of Dracula with high tech knowledge of defeating mystical creatures
8) Victoria Montessi (ally) - woman who almost birthed Cthon a few years back, focused on defeating the supernatural so others don't have to deal with what she did

Amanda is the leader of the group. Jennifer Kale, Brother Voodoo, Ian McNee, a revived Rintrah, and a new incarnation of Devil Slayer form the core. Satana is a wildcard, a nominal ally who occasionally works at cross-purposes with the team. Blade and Ghost Rider are the most frequent associates of the group but have only semi-official membership. The group will also call upon additional mystical characters as operatives when needed, such as Gargoyle, Werewolf By Night, and Amanda's mother Margali Szardos.

The group appropriates the name Shadow Chasers once used for Margali's team-up with Hellstrom.

yeah, it could be unsactioned. wouldn't bother me. it's not like Tony made Doc Strange register, anyways. Mephisto's return might make a team like this neccessary.

4. Dracula - this could be fun - Dracula shot up with the mystic equivalant of nanites (ala the Thunderbolts). The Venom of the team, if you will. Only smarter. And deadlier. And even more pissed. Or, if you don't want to play it like that, he could be a reluctant ally against a worse threat.

5. Isaac Christians - love the Gargoyle.

6. Satana

7. Ghost Rider - the mystic equivalent of Wolverene. You'll need him to sell the book.



Good mix here, different power levels, strong personalities for interesting character interaction. I can see friction between Mordo and Brother Voodoo, Dracula and both Elsa and Ghost Rider, Mordo and Dracula, Brother Voodoo and Ghost Rider, Satana and Dracula getting closer than is comfortable, Gargoyle trying to hold the team together, and plus there's the potential for an Elsa/Satana catfight. Hmmmmn.....catfights.

Add the Man-Thing somehow (not necessarily on the team, but definately in the book) and it'd be perfect.
