My in-laws were moving and didn't want to take it this deer head with them, so I snagged it. I'm not personally into shooting deer, but it's already long dead and would be a shame to throw it out.

Plus, it kinda ties the room together.

Anyway, while looking through Box Full Of Evil for the umpteenth time I noticed this...

...and got a decorating idea. It just took a little hot glue and some red paint. Click the pics for bigger versions:

I still have to get up there with a hair dryer and melt the strands back a bit so they aren't flying away from the face so much. But I think we'll leave the blood on there year-round, as, well, it's hilariously gross.

Want to make your own household decorative objects weep blood? It's easy!

You need some hot glue and a hot glue gun. If you've got red hot glue sticks, you're all set -- if not, you can use clear and just paint the "blood" red (I used spray paint).

Take some parchment paper or a cookie sheet -- something flat and smooth that hot glue won't stick to permanently.

I measured the deer's eye sockets and mouth, and made "strings" of blood to measure.

Dribble a long, thick string onto your cookie sheet to get started, then some icky thin strands coming down off of that. Make sure to form a nice blop of glue at the bottom of each strand.

Let dry - it only takes a few minutes - and peel up. You can trim any messy glue-threads with scissors after it dries. Paint the "blood" strips if you need to.

You can tape it onto whatever you're bloodying if the surface is smooth, but since the deer head was fuzzy I had to use a tiny drop of hot glue at each end of the strip to attach it (kinda like putting on false eyelashes). It'll probably lift some hairs off if I remove it, but I'm gonna leave it on forever and ever.

I was told:

"No you're not making anything in the house bleed. I don't care if Sparky did it, you're not!"

Oh well. Cool idea. I'd like to see it again after you hit it with the hairdryer. You must live in the funnest house ever. I'm surrounded by sunflowers :( Although I did manage to get my Abe bust, Hellboy Lunch box and coaster set box displayed on top of the entertainment center...for now.

Bleeding sunflowers would be great.

"Bleeding Sunflowers" is also a reasonable band name for you emo kids out there.

Sparky, I would like to come and live at your house.

Here is another Hallowe'en Decor Tip, link originally sent to me by Rick:

Witch Kitchen Jars (http://aranamuerta.com/2007/02/20/witch-kitchen-jars/)

To make a Hellboy/BPRD-related jar, get a stuffed monkey from your local cursed curio shop, slap a creepy Chinese mask on it and stuff it in a large jar.

The above post contains 100% awesomeness! It's so sick I love it.

What makes it somehow extra-awesome is how bloody* weird that is out of Hellboy context.

At Christmas you have to put a glowing red nose on it.

*I had to.

you know how at Christmas time someone goes around and puts red reflectors on the noses of all the deer on the deer crossing road signs?

... well guess what I'm thinking!

BTW, I think you need to hang a wok on either side of it.

Love the holloween Idea for decorating. I have a long horn in my house on the wall. I will try that, and with others. I used to put spider webs, and spiders on my front window. I think a bleeding house would be Kool. Thanks:D

Want to make your own household decorative objects weep blood? It's easy!

I could accomplish that with a Yoko Ono boxed set. ;)

That's a pretty nifty display there, Sparky. I now wish I'd bought a Triceratops bust I once saw.....that idea would've worked well with it.

Beyond creative, and really creepy! From the few glimpses we get your house looks really interesting. Care to share some pictures of your "home decor"?
