It's a DePalma movie, what do you expect?

I'm pleased to see that even your hard-boiled cynicism has small fluffy hole in it.

But I'm surprised to see that it's DePalma shaped.

I'm surprised they still let DePalma make films - he was never great, and it's been well over twenty years since he made anything decent (Carlito's Way probably, and I think that was good despite him).

But really, a Black Dhalia adaptation was never going to be worth seeing - the best you could hope for was the sort of adaptation From Hell got - bloody awful, even when judged by it's own merits.
