Each week we'll have a poll to determine the forum's current feel on a topic. Feel free to submit a poll idea if you have one!

This week we want to know...

While not an Avengers crossover, Annihilation Conquest has at least featured appearances by several past Avengers.

Whose Annihilation Conquest appearances have you enjoyed most?

My real answer would be 'I'm not reading any Conquest titles that feature those characters'. =/

I guess, judging by a couple previews, Mantis seems pretty cool.

I'd have to say I'm digging Giffen's Mantis, actually. I pretty much dislike that character, but he's got her with this really awesome Eastern-Zen type of personality.

Gage's Moondragon is probably the best I've seen her in ages, too. It builds on the vulnerability she showed a little bit of in PAD's Captain Marvel, but her relationship with Phyla is really well done. Not sure how I feel about the dragon transformation, though.

I love the new take on Moondragon; it's nice to see her be human and caring, a chance from her normally bitchy self. And the dragon thing... it's a good story, but a crappy status quo. And I have to give a shout out to Mantis, who has been rocking faces in Starlord.

What I like is that it really builds on what are, to me, the best Moondragon stories out there- as I noted, her appearances in PAD's CM and the place I first read about her, JM Dematteis' New Defenders- in particular her seminal Dragon of the Moon arc at the end of the run, where we really saw a vulnerable Heather Douglas trying desperately to fight for her very life and making some bad choices as a result.

Actually, that story arc seems really interesting in light of her current relationship with Phyla, as to me- her struggles against the spores that were killing her seem to almost mirror Mar-Vell's struggles with cancer. Whereas Mar-Vell faced death bravely with acceptance, she sold out her friends and tried to hang on. I don't know, it just struck me as sort of poignant.
