Oh another week with a lot of good books.

Marvel
Avengers: Initiative #6: Flipped through the preview copy of it last week. Fill-in artist but it looks good. Big issue for Slapstick fans like me.
Criminal #9: Just good stuff every month.
The Order #3: I don't know, may be dropping soon.
Ulitmate Spider-man #114: So either Immonen built up a good portion of issues, or he's going to see if he can keep up with Bagley's production level.

DC/Wildstorm
All-star Batman #7: Why not? I've bought the first 6, and this one came out practically on time.
Green Arrow Year 1 #5: Jock's art has been great, but the story has moved kind of slow. Should make a great trade.
JLA Classified #43: This is a questionable one. Picked up #42 for Leonardi's art, but haven't actually read it yet. need to read it tonight and decide if I like it enough to pick this up.
Justice League of America #13: Another questionable one. I just jumped off Metzler's JLA, but this is McDuffie, and I enjoyed the Wedding special enough to maybe give this a try. Game day decision.
The Spirit #10: Of course.
Supergirl and the Legion of Superheroes #34: My interest is picking back up after seeing the preview art and reading the Shooter interview. I'll keep with it till then.
Astro City the Dark Age Book 2 #4: Need to break out the other issues. Maybe need to switch to trade, although are they just going to put out the whole Dark Age story in one 12 issue book?

BOOM! Studios
Left on Mission #4: A nice little spy story with some decent moody art. Pretty decent stuff.

Trades
Dardevil: Hell to Pay Vol 1: Between this, Cap, and Criminal, Marvel seems to love doing goofy trade dress for Brubakers stuff. Love the series though but don't want to buy monthly.
Walking Dead Vol 7: The Calm Before: This is one series I need to reread from the beginning to catch up on. I know I have vol 6 and I think read the first half of that one in issues but haven't read the second half. At least need to read that before diving into this one.

It actually looks like I am going to be in town on Wednesday this week!

DC COMICS
Wonder Woman Annual #1, $3.99 - Hopefully, this is as good as the first 4 issues in Heinberg's run.

IMAGE COMICS
Astounding Wolf-Man #3, $2.99
Brit #2, $2.99 - Good Kirkman week!
Savage Dragon #132, $6.99 - Freakin' excited about this! Don't remember a thing that is going on in the book. Also, the John Workman letters look nice in the preview.

MARVEL COMICS
Avengers Initiative #6 CWI, $2.99 - On the chopping block. Gets a flip test.
The Order #3 CWI, $2.99 - Loved the last issue. Art from Kitson/Morales is really good.
Ultimate Spider-Man #114, $2.99 - First book I read this week!

DC COMICS
Justice League Of America #13 (Cover A), $2.99 - I think I will give McDuffie a try
Wonder Woman Annual #1, $3.99 - the completist in me wants to buy it, but to spite DC after the way they have handled WW is compelling

MARVEL COMICS
Annihilation Conquest Star Lord #3 (of 4), $2.99
Avengers Defenders War Premiere HC, $19.99 - intriguing - may give this some kind of flip test
Avengers Initiative #6 CWI, $2.99
Punisher Max Annual #1, $3.99
Sub-Mariner #4 (of 6) CWI, $2.99 - have not read # 2 or # 3 yet
X-Men #203, $2.99 - Carey's Marauders story is okay so far outside of another flip-flop by Mystique

NBM
Boneyard #26, $2.95 :D

4 Horseman #2 - Keith Giffen mini-series get bought by me at an almost automatic rate. This is good, with great moments. But its not a great series yet.

Batman #669 - I've enjoyed Morrison's Batman so far, but this like Dini's Detective hasn't wowed me at all. I am definitely skipping the Ra's story that is crossing over, and I am not sure I will come back to either title.

Astounding Wolf-Man #3, Brit #2 - I am getting the first 5 issues or so of both books. A Trade's worth. Then I will either start getting the trades or drop them. I am not sure on either on yet. I am enjoying Wolf-Man more, but if Brit could seperate itself from Kirkman's style (since it is by a different writer) that would help it. Kirkman's books are all starting to sound the same.

Walking Dead Vol.7 - I have really cooled on this book, but I love the early volumes so much it has a long leash.

Star-Lord #3 - Remember what I said about Giffen before? But also I am loving Marvel's cosmic stuff as of late, and this series is fun.

Daredevil Hell to Pay: Brubaker's Daredevil and Captain America are the best books Marvel is doing right now.

Iron Man: Hypervelocity - I didn't pick this up, but I meant to. Since Live Wires Adam Warren is a near automatic buy for me.

Cap: Red, White, and Blue - I passed on this.

Akiko: Flights of Fancy - I passed on this, for now. It reprints stuff I don't have, but I have a trade with nearly 80% of this, so its a tough sell to me. I am unemployed and I might just hope I can still get it next year when I will hopefully be working....I hate rebuying stuff that I already have in trade. Like I am sad that I am going to have to rebuy Zot (a great series) when I have all but the last arc collected....but the last arc was the BEST arc, so its pretty much a given I will rebuy it.

That's my list.

AKIKO is one of those books that I really miss reading in comic book form. The young readers novels were fine (and I'm looking forward to reading them to my daughter soon) but lost a lot of the fun inherent in seeing the characters in sequential form. Any idea what this collects?

I am doing this from memory (although I should just google it and find out online)...but it collects everything in the first Flights of Fancy - which was all the backup features from every issue of Akiko and one full single issue (that was full of intertwined short stories - as well as the final 4 issues that were not previously collected (up through #50).

Small-ish week for me.

Wonder Woman Annual #1--[insert sad headshake]

Criminal #9--Cool!
Daredevil: Hell to Pay vol. 1 TP--I expect the announcement of an oversized hardcover any day now.
Franklin Richards: Monster Mash #1--Can't wait for another trade/digest for the library
Iron Man: Hypervelocity TP--Adam Warren! Dying to read this!
Ultimate Spider-Man #114--Woo-hoo!
White Tiger: A Hero's Compulsion TP--OK, the title was bugging me so much I had to look it up on Marvel.com. And it is sad that after waiting for this, the only thing I have to post about it is a possible grammatical error in the sub-title.

Boneyard #26--It always makes me smile when this in the week's list

Revere: Revolution In Silver TP--The Revolutionary War. Paul Revere. Werewolves. How frickin' cool is that?!! :D

Wait for Trade
-------------
Usagi Yojimbo
Astro City: The Dark Age
Batman
Justice League of America--Although I'm considering skipping even the collections until McDuffie's run
Spirit
Annihilation Conquest: Star Lord
Avengers Initiative
Cable/Deadpool
Immortal Iron Fist
The Order
Ultimate Fantastic Four
X-Men

Golgo 13 is good, I think I have the newest one to read. I just wish they were putting out more than just 13 volumes.
