Over the next week, month, year, etc. please post original artwork depicting Henry P. McCoy in any of his incarnations!

This art can be new or old and in any medium. If it's an old piece please indicate approximately when it was created. And please feel free to comment on others' work, BUT remember, this isn't art class and all posters are encouraged to participate regardless of talent. Unless specifically asked for negative comments are not appreciated and will be reported to the moderator to be deleted. The next Draw Me An X thread will be posted in the coming weeks. So have fun and take your time!

I always liked Art Adams...

I drew this a few years ago. It's not great - and there's not much to it - but it is Beast and I didn't like him not being represented at all here. :)

Try doing a search on Photoshop tutorials and see what comes up. there are tons of Photoshop sites online. And you can always try your local library and find a book on the subject. :)

I basically just spent about a million hours goofing off in Photoshop. My former roommate took out a Learn Photoshop in 24 hours book and she's know a Photoshop master. It's scary.

Very nice, very nice. Good piccie, Vegetarian Goat. And no, I won't cry cause it's Pussy Cat Beast, I don't like the current look for the character, but at least it's slimmer and has lost the anthroish legs of the Morrison Beast. I still want my original Beast back, but I don't mind the current look quite as much. :)

I'm with you Beast. I have a hard time getting behind the original Frank Quitely design... if everything else about him was ape-like, and his face was not QUITE totally human, but something like the movie's Cowardly Lion (obviously not as silly though...) then i'd be happy. But 5 fingers... those paws are sad.

I don't know for sure if this counts under the forum rules, but a friend drew this for me. I used to play the character in an RPG, and he did a picture of Ultimate Hank for me as a suprise. I'm not the artist, and sadly I've lost track of him. If you're out there man, give me a PM. :(

I did this in about 20 minutes during the daily show (about 5 minutes of that was looking for an eraser though). The more ape-like Hank with pretty human characteristics. I drew him and thought he looked a little too model-like but there's not much I can do about that.

Not the best scan ever. I've only started drawing again recently (a month or so) after a few years of being out of practice so it isn't the best ever.

I like the linework and your take on Beast. I'd love to see it in color.

Actually, my first thought upon seeing it was "Wow, that looks like an illustration that would appear in some chidlren's book from the early 20th Century- something like Wizard of Oz or something."

I think the "feline" Beast looks really cool. It makes him look more feral and animalistic as opposed to just a guy who happens to be slightly ugly. I think the juxtaposition of animal appearance and highly evolved human brain is very striking. You know... like Gorilla Grodd.

I never understood why he went everywhere so naked. If he got hot cause of the fur he could always wear clothing that breathes. Or maybe he just liked showing off.
Even with clothing that breathes, you have to consider the fact that he's basically wearing a fur coat all the time. I can see light airy clothing for public situations. But I don't have a problem with the speedo or shorts. Mostly because of needing to have freedom of movement. Plus fur + spandex/latex/leather when he's really being physically active would be murder. :)

Quite nice! I think this is my favorite incarnation of Beast, after he turned blue all over, but before he develped the cat-like face. ;)

You're all great artists. I've love to be able to draw like that. Anyway, it's a little late but here's my version of the Doc. Pardon the crappy scan and messy pencils but I don't usually draw so I quit while I was ahead. As you can see, the left arm looks kindy strange. This actually took me a while but these threads are too good to pass up so I thought I'd give it a go.

I might improve upon it if any of you have any suggestions.

Thanks, originally this was gonna be kind of a rough pass and then I was gonna go over it with a darker color and smooth it out a bit, but then I figured I'd probably end up making him worse not better. So he is a little disjointed.

It's cute, I think i had a stuffed animal like this when i was a little girl.
edit, it was a bear, teddy ruxpin(sp?) and all. Loved the glow worms and Pound puppies too.

including every costume for Captain America and his crew (all the Buckies, versions of Cap, his sidekicks, etc.) and a bunch of Avengers (Hank Pym, Carol Danvers, Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, all in every one of their uniforms).

Thanks everyone! I haven't done X23, or Emma Frost yet, but I'll get to them eventually. There are only a couple Beast images I'm still going to do, and if some one can help me find a better pic of his Revolution costume than the one on Uncanny X-Men.net, I'd appreciate it, a good reference is the only reason its not done yet.

Well thanks to Ronnie for posting those pics of the 'new' Beast- seeing him in the same basic pose as in his classic era really does show up how much They changed and mucked him up!

Bring back Classic Beast now!

As a follow on question- who does the best Beast art?

Not to thread drift too much- but that Alan Davis picture... it's obviously supposed to be X-Men from all different times, (looking at Rogue and Havok), but i'm wondering why Juggernaut is there, since up until that point he'd always been a villain? Maybe it was the editor's plan all along to eventually make juggsy a hero?

Well Alan Davis might have handled it better than Austen......*grin*

The reason Juggy is there is to do with the plot and the Danger Room being magically manipulated by a Demon which the Clan Destine and X-Men then fight. Its worth picking up the 2 Xmen-clan Destine books; they are good fun.

We need more Clan Destine......always wanted to see Dr McCoy and Newton work together on some thingy....

thanks, i had fun with this one. i thought Beast should have the ability to carry his electronics and medical devices into the field, but his restrictive Revolution outfit didn't seem to fit him. and i really think Doc McCoy plays a DS in his spare time.

Well, I have NO idea if this is appropriate here or not, but it turns out that during an RP scene with the X-Men: Evo characters, that Hank and Kurt got themselves into a bit of a pickle-- although from the looks of it, Hank had more of a "problem" than Kurt did.
