Preacher HBO series

Does anyone know more about what is going on with the Preacher TV show at HBO? I heard something about new executives there or something? I hope they don't ruin it. Last I heard, they were involving Garth Ennis every step of the way. I had such high hopes!!!

Part of me figures this series will never happen.

The rest of me hopes it will never happen.

Seriously, comic books are not illustrated screenplays. I have little interest in seeing this series adapted into a tv series.

Of course, having said that I subscribe to HBO and if the show really comes about will at the very least check out the first few episodes. I can't say my own hopes are high though and I'm the sort who typically defends comic adaptations.
