Spiderman vs Doom in that scene was awesome. I loved it when spidey was on the building and then it blew up. The gameplay and level designes are awesome too. The near fully destructable gamplay is also cool.

The Charaters are: (gimme a sec...)
Spiderman
Doom
Hulk
Captain America
Juggernaut (which is really cool)
Ironman
Let me keep looking.
Hahahahahahahaha, Doomkilt!

Man, Doom's put on some weight.
Well, looks better than Nemesis, I guess. Although it looks more like a multiplayer mode on Hulk: Ultimate Destruction than a straight-up fighting game. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I don't know if it is exactly what I would traditionally consider a fighting game. It's hard to think of a fighting game when you're dealing with a third-person behind the back.

That's how the newer DBZ Budokai's have been, it's really not too bad, works fairly well

I just don't like the idea that everyone can knock eachother flying across the map. And I hope that there are different costumes for each character, although the older"70s" looking costumes are kind of growing on me.

That's not saying much. . .

I'm just happy they aren't using the done-to-death X-Men Legends gameplay.
And I still have faith in the developer team (though the head of the team is annoying as heck). They're always trying to be innovative. Sometimes it works (fight night), sometimes it doesn't (icon). But even when it doesn't, the production value is awesome, unlike Nemesis, which was half-a$$ed.
I think it'll be a great game.

I honestly hate the little sprite models in Legends or Alliance. I'd much rather have slanted side scroller than a top down.

Games like these make me regret buying PS2s when PS3s and other nextgen consoles arrive.

I'd rather have Marvel vs Capcom 3, but this might be ok.

Thing about a 3... apart from some new characters, is it going to be better than 2? That's the problem with one on one fighting games, they kind of reach their pinnacle after a certain point, and there aren't the need for regular updates like with sports games.

I agree that they don't need regular updates, but I think it's been long enough!
EDIT: I'd actually s*** my pants for a DC vs Capcom or DC vs Marvel game......or a DC vs Marvel vs Capcom game!

Punisher? It's hard enough to buy Captain America tossing Hulk and Juggernaut around.

Fighting games never use the power the characters have in the comics exactly the same as they do in the game. To be fair they really cannot because then Anyone who was lets say galactus (I know he isn't in the game) would win every time. Fighting games always have two or three boss characters that are uber powerfull and everyone else close to an even playing field regardless of who that character is.

Well I think (and even if you didn't like the game I think you can agree) that Marvel Nemesis did a pretty good job at giving the characters stats that seemed to match their characteristics. Elektra was weak but had quick attacks and movements while Thing was bulky and sluggish but did a lot of damage if given the chance to get up close. Torch was fast with a lot of energy for ranged blasts but was weak and didn't do too much melee damage. Magneto wasn't strong fighter and wasn't durrible at all (he is 60ish) but could use his powers like no ones buisness.
Where as people like Iron Man, and Niles Van Rockel (main bad guy) had their armor suits so they were more well balanced and had the speed strength and duribility that should have been given to them.
Point is that you can have players with "realistic" stats and still have an effective game and battle. There's no reason they can't do it. The only reason why they're not doing it is to show off the "fully destructive maps." Which I think is a lame reason to take away from realistic fighting just to add to eye candy.

Oh yeah, and the DBZ games do the same thing. Some characters are just way more powerful than others. And it's still a very enjoyable game and a lot of fun. It's also more of a challange and adds to replay and enjoyment.

the actually looks like its gonna be hot. The whole place being interactive with destructive damage kicks it up a notch since you don't get that too often.
Hope it has enough characters and some different ones. Tired of seeing the same ones over and over.
Bring in a Bishop, Punisher, Silver Surfer, Super Skrull, Galactus, Black Bolt, etc..

Oddly, every one of those characters have been in a video game in the last three or four years. The first three as playable characters, even.

Looks pretty good. I'd get it just passed on that thus far. Here's to hoping for some more Deadpool exposer within video games.

Yeah I know Bishop was in X-men Legends 2 and Silver Surfer was in Marvel Alliance, but its different having those kind of guys in a fighting game.
We always use to seeing them toned down in a RPG, beat'em up game, but say put them in a fighting game then those underused characters would be awesome cuz you can take some restraints off of them.
Every time any type of Marvel fighting game comes around these are the same characters they have ( minus a few or give and take)
Wolverine
Hulk
Magneto
Spiderman
Juggernaut
Ironman
Storm
Cyclops
Dr. Doom
Captain America
We see these guys all the time. I know their real popular but take a chance on some other guys and make them playable.
You can't tell me it wouldn't be cool to play with guys like, Silver Surfer, Bishop, Super Skrull, Punisher, Black Bolt, Blade, Gladiator, Manderin, and Ultimo in a fighting game. You can still throw in fan favorites like Wolvie,Spidey and Juggs but come on, change it up a bit.

Those popular characters are going to be there, I seriously doubt the game will be missing the most well known characters. They could still mix in some of the lesser knowns you mentioned, but the bug names will be there, almost guaranteed.
Though, I doubt we'll be seeing Punisher in this game, he really don't fit in well with the superhero types, IMO

Oh I agree with the Punisher. Besides shooting and throwing bombs I can't really say that he'd be all that useful or interesting in a game like this. My whole point is that they should try to mix in a couple lesser guys every time they make a fighting game. Theres some really cool characters that people should actually get a chance to play with in a video game.

Oh, well in your last post I thought you were saying just having the majority lesser or unknown characters and just throw in a few popular, well-known characters.
As far as it goes, though, I do also hope they put in a few lesser known characters, too, if for nothing more then to made get them noticed to a general medium
