I really liked this episode (I almost typed issue). The running GL joke was funny, especially at the beginning with the kid. Seeing snippets of the battle with Mordru was good fun, and there was a good amount of characters being used. Elongated Man spoke!
Also, is it just me or did they change the voice of Captain Atom? The only way I could tell is because the voice actor is also on CSI, but it didn't sound the same.
Funny episode, good action, just good fun all around.

I finally saw an episode last weekend and got hooked, so I stayed home to watch tonight's.
I know nothing about Booster Gold, but I think this episode was a nice intro to the character. I really liked the interaction between him and Elongated Man in the beginning. The only thing I really didn't like was Batman's attitute toward him at the end, but oh well.
EDIT: Whoops, a minute late apparently. Can you merge, Greg?

Good episode. Don't care for Mordru so I'm glad he was in the background this entire ep.
Billy West is so Skeets! :D
I was hoping things would look a little better for Booster in the end (like Batman mentioning that he knew what Booster was doing and was proud of him), but hey, he got the girl. Sure, he's getting a Batman whoopin' later on, but he got something out of it all at least.
"If I was the Green Lantern, my costume would be GREEN!!!"
Great episode.
I really like this incarnation of Justice League more than I did the previous one.

They mentioned Plastic Man! :D
Which means, hopefully, that he'll be replacing Wally as comedy relief so Flash can start being cool.
Also, really pissed that DC doesn't have the rights to Blue Beetle yet. He would've been great in this episode. It was lacking a lot of humor. Booster's only as funny as the people he interacts with. He was definitely funny in this episode, but he would've been off the charts hilarious if Beetle were there.

Though this was basically a light hearted episode and I DID like it, I just wish that they could've had Blue Beetle in it, too. I don't get that they don't have the rights to the character, I mean, he is in DC comics, so why not in the tv show?

They own the printing rights. Someone else still owns the video rights to him and, I think, Thunderbolt.

lol cause it was Billy West doing the voice (at least i'm 99% positive, i didn't see the credits)
Loved the episode. Booster is one of my favorite non-mainstream character and i think the story really fit his character. really good stuff :)
I'm crossing my fingers for a "maybe" Blue Beetle - Booster Gold episode ?! ;)

Bah, just do what they did with the JSA. Call him the Cerulean Scarab and we're good to go. Just don't call him Ted Kord till the rights go back, then have him change his name and costume.

I was surprised by the episode. I really enjoyed it. I really like the fact that they do not just stick with the main Leaguers. We've all seen stories with them. Bout time some of the minor ones got their due. Would have been great if it had Blue Beetle, but hey, at least Skeets was there. And I loved the quick shots of all the other hereoes. Glad I spotted Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. Way to go on a good episode!

I thought this was a great show just because of the characterization of BG.
We saw the composite Superman/Batman from World's Funnest and the walking building from the Superman/Madman crossover.
One question: why were people constanly mistaking a blonde white guy for a bald black guy?

That was a great episode. It had me and my three-year old laughing (sometimes I think she's just imitating me).
Elongated Man got chose before Booster! And they already had a super-stretchy guy!
I love the Red Light bit with Skeets. My kid loved Skeets...she asked me if Booster can build another robot after Skeets was holed. I was thinking..."Not if he's the comic book version." Skeets pacing outside the ambulance was funny, too.

Was I the only one who was waiting for Hitman to show up and kill the black hole guy? Wasn't that a Hitman plot? Anyway, an episode I both loved and hated at the exact same time, for the exact same reasons. You want to see the Mordru fight, but at the same time, you know that's just your standard superhero nonsense. But they keep teasing you with it. It's not fair! I wanted to see Vibe in action!
Yep, this episode was dam fun.
Up until now, I never really found Booster that interesting till last night. Is he like that in the comics?
Best episode of the season so far for me.

I'm not entirely sure about this episode. Certainly, it was good, and easily better than Initiation or Hawk & Dove. However, it didn't have last week's episode's atmosphere, nor was it as funny as Kid Stuff or This Little Piggy. The Booster Gold storyline was enjoyable, though, and I really liked the sense of something epic happening they managed to get into the Mordru fight.
Overall, a solid episode, but not one of the season's best so far.

SO MUCH FUN!
This show consistently makes me love EVERY DAMN CHARACTER they spotlight. THIS is how I like my superheroes- combine a serious threat with the levity required in a spandex clad world. Good plot? Check. Character development or introspection? Check. Fun battles? Check!
This is exactly why I loved comics in the first place and the success of this show is, in my eyes, proof that superhero comics need to return to THESE roots and be fun again. Is there room for mature superhero material? Yup. But let's show the big characters, icons, etc in a more fun light.
The best moment was Booster whining about not being a hero and Skeets saying, "I got nothin"

I thought it was pretty good; Mordu was cool, even though you only saw a little bit of him.
All I know about the character is that he loses his powers when he is buried under Earth (IE Rocks, Stone, Soil, Ground). And he has big magic powers.
Anyway, my bet for best episode of JLU is next weeks: "The Return"
The Plot?
Quote:
"Nearly Two dozen Heroes Join Forces to stop an Android that has returned to Earth to kill the recently reformed Lex Luthor."
And just who do you think the Android is? Yep, that's right, Amazo's back!!!
Second Contestant for best episode this season would be "Wake the Dead"
The Plot?
"When Solomon Grundy is ressurected and goes on a rampage, and old friend must come out of hiding and help the League stop him."
Old Friend? yep, must be Hawk Girl. Should be interesting.

I never liked Booster Gold before, but I sure liked this episode.
I also would've liked to see Vibe in action. Just to see his powers animated. And hey, his costume didn't look totally ugly!

The episode was ok. Not one of my favorites but decent. I liked seeing a huge team of Leaguers fighting a city wide battle in the background though. My favorite part? Booster Gold's voice was provided my one of my absolute favorites: Tom Everett Scott from American Werewolf in Paris. :D

That Amazo robot reminds me of someone...
As far as "Greatest Story Never Told" goes, I didn't like it. With so few episodes do we really need one to introduce Booster Gold? They just jumped right into it with "The Question" and I didn't have a problem figuring him out.
Booster could have been introduced with just his video presentation and then we can just get into the story. Not the false jeopardy type story we got here.
Okay, he's from the future, he wants to be a super-hero like the famous ones from the old days so he goes back in time to be one, but he's really a loser who isn't really a loser.
I thought the episode was pretty disposable. They wasted one.

I've got no love for this episode. Too much dumb, illogical stuff happened for my tastes.
The scientist has a black hole in his chest. The fate of the universe is at stake. But Booster stops to help deliver a baby. The fate of the universe is at stake. But Booster stops to fight a building. THE FATE OF THE UNIVERSE IS AT STAKE. Booster gets distracted by every peripheral bit of activity instead of just snapping the darn collar on the dude's neck. I know they're trying to portray him as something of a bungler, but the fate of the universe is at stake. Focus!!!
That and the falling-in-love-after-5-minutes thing ruined this episode for me. But then, I haven't been enjoying this series as much everyone else seems to.

Well, he did give the collar to Tracy to do the job while he helped the pregnant lady. I noticed the competant physicist wasn't getting the job done either.
Ok, a rather weak defense here, but it was a comic relief moment. I went with it.
But Booster stops to fight a building. THE FATE OF THE UNIVERSE IS AT STAKE.
Did you miss the fact that Tracy was about to get stomped? This is a staple of superhero stories, where a superhero rescues someone in immediate distress while letting a bad guy continue his rampage or escape all together. This has happened to Superman and Batman more times than I can count.
Booster gets distracted by every peripheral bit of activity instead of just snapping the darn collar on the dude's neck.
Peripheral bit of activity (phrase) - A car landing on top of you, avoiding 50 foot long giant pipes from squashing you, saving people from being sucked into black holes and from giant monsters, getting flattened by a train.
Seems a pretty bad day to me. But if this is your idea of getting distracted, I don't even want to live in the same city as you.
I know they're trying to portray him as something of a bungler, but the fate of the universe is at stake. Focus!!!
Did you notice he did prevail in the end?
Aside from the pregnant woman, it seems you're being a wee bit overcritical here of Booster's performance.
That and the falling-in-love-after-5-minutes thing ruined this episode for me.
She asked the guy that takes a beating from a giant monster to protect her out to dinner and this ruins an episode? It ain't like she proposed. Just because you aren't 6 foot 6 inches with big bulging muscles, blue eyes, perfect blond hair that stays through a universe shattering ordeal, and a winning smile doesn't mean that ladies aren't going to be attracted to that sort of guy.
But then, I haven't been enjoying this series as much everyone else seems to.
Sorry to hear that.

Just DL'd the episode. (Wait for it to air over in England? Screw that noise.)
I'd say that as far as story went this was the best episode of the JLU yet. If you look at every episode (except for "The Man Who Has Everything" which was adapted from a comic) all the stories sucked but had "Well we've got THESE characters in it" to save them.
This episode had a Good Story and Booster and Skeet.
The only problems I had with it were the lack of Blue Beetle (here's hoping they get him for the next season and do them together.) and Mordru wearing his ugly LSH costume.
I NEVER saw the appeal of that costume and much prefered his JSA costume.

Loved it. Loved it.
"Justice League" took a few episodes to find its footing, and "JLU" also got off to a shaky start, but the episodes just keep getting better and better.
Booster Gold was hilarious, and I really liked the character. I mean, we've had three years of super-competent heroes saving the Universe on a daily basis, it was a nice twist to get a hero who really isn't so good. And as said, coming second to "Vibe", I mean damn.
Skeets was the funniest part of the episode. "I want your autograph!", the "I got nothin'" response to BG's angst, and then the moment where Skeets is pacing outside the ambulance while BG helps deliver a baby, that had me in hysterics :). I was really upset when I thought they'd killed him, but then he came back and BG sort of hugged him as a welcome, it was really cool.
Unlike others, I *liked* the romance subplot, and didn't mind that they skimped on the battle with Mordru. I mean right from the opening we knew this was going to be a BG-focus episode, so it made sense to follow him rather than follow everybody else. And as Skeets said, crowd control is an important job.
And of course there was standard ADCU "hero-spotting". "Aztek! Huntress! Fire and Ice! Shining Knight! Elongated Man! JJ Thunder's imp!" I keep wanting to see more of this universe.
And, in closing... well, I kinda thought Booster Gold was kind of hot, heh.
:D

I really liked Skeets too. He played so well off of Booster's character. They make a fun duo with tons of comedy potential.
I can see why people were upset that the Mordru fight wasn't the main plot, but I loved that this story was focused on Booster. It was funny and touching and showed off Booster's awesome potential.
An all around good episode.

I had very skimpy knowledge of Booster Gold from reading JLA (although all my issues are of the current series, so Booster Gold got like one panel in one story), and I had no idea he actually had superpowers. The whole flight, low-level superstrength and low-level invulnerability things were a real shock. OTOH, having Skeets should be a power in and of itself, darn it :).
