I'm new to the world of Hellboy, but I've got a question of the numbers of issues.
Inside each cover page, there is a number relating to the issue.
Hellboy : Almost Colossus # 1 and 2 (13-14)
Hellboy : Box Full of Evil # 1 and 2 (15-16)
Hellboy : Darkness Calls # 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 (27-32)
Can anyone please tell me the other numbers, according to their issues?

Mike Mignola (it seems) wants to seperate out certain Hellboy stories to be part of an officially numbered sequence. So while Seeds of Destruction, Wake the Devil, and Almost Colossus are "official"... other stories like Batman/Hellboy/Starman are not.
If anyone has an official list of which stories make the grade and which ones don't, I love to see it. I went thru all my hellboy comics and there are a couple gaps in the numbering system. I have made some educated guesses but...

Until reading that post by Space Cadet, I had never even noticed the additional numbers.
Now we need to make the list!
The Island #23 #24
Makoma #25,#26
The Third Wish#21,#22
Wake The Devil #7-#11
Weird Tales are not numbered
That is all I have for now.

I would imagine this type of issue may be why (for instance) the Compendium was so difficult to compile. Time lines from different eras and over 10 years worth of continuity can't be easy to keep track of.

Almost Colossus 12-13
The Christmas Special 14
Box Full of Evil 15-16
Conqueror Worm 17-20
The Third Wish 21-22
The Island 23-24
Makoma 25-26
Darkness Calls 27-32

1-4 is Seed of Destruction.
12 is part of Almost Colossus.
17 is part of Conqueror Worm.
That's all I have that isn't already listed.

I'll double check my Almost Col, when I get home. It was only 2 issues. Conq. worm probably fills in between Box full of evil and Third wish.

Wolves of St August would be 5-6. Maybe the DHP Annual 98 is between Wake & Almost even though it was released after AC?

Good point.
#12 is part one (of two) of Almost Colossus and #17 is part one (of four) of Conqueror Worm.
I didn't realize I had so many gaps.

This could be used to separate out 'in continuity' stories, like Almost Colossus, and 'out of continuity' stories, like those in Weird Tales.
The Wikipedia page on Hellboy has a timeline from the comics... adventures with no date, like "The Vampire of Prague", are not mentioned. I should go through my Hellboy comics and take a look... I think the timeline is up to date (I added "Troll Witch" and "Lion and the Hydra" last week) but it might need another pass.

That's what I was thinking. I'll have to number 'em tonight.

And in case anyone is away from their comics and wondering, BPRD is the same way. Ditto Cal McDonald.

Don't worry... you're not missing any variants or anything. They may not be numbered on the inside, but they are on the outside. ;)
