anyone see it
VERY GOOD. Thought it be depressing but it was fun and fast pace. Also like the on the edge cops. The other cop being an escape criminal a bit much
I mean dont they have a NATIONAL computer network that would know the guy. Hope that just using suspension of disbeleif and it not really crimanls out there set basicly free due to that storm
some parts a bit clique but it done well. Pretty good car chase. Nice bad guys that may pop up again. The city still looks pretty mess up
Anyone from new orleans. Hear they film it there.
The actors got good chemistry too. Also like both seem both have part good cops and bad cop
That will be interesting

The first 15 minutes or so were a riveting commentary on the whole Katrina situation, but after that, it started to feel like more of a conventional cop show. Anthony whathisname has really stepped up his game, but the white guy didn't sell it. Maybe he caught fire later in the episode, but I lost interest before that.

Didn't catch the show, but I would only watched it to see Anthony Anderson work. I feel he's underestimated most of the time. He can do it all and almost has under the radar. He was awesome during his stint on The Shield and was the only human I enjoyed in the Transformers movie.
I like watching him work. He was the highlight of Hang Time, but not even I ever expected him to still be around. He's not exactly high profile or a house hold name, but the guy delivers.
Cole Hauser can do some pretty cool things, too.

I agree. I got bored with it pretty quickly. Not as intriguing as I thought it was going to be.

I thought it was okay, but definitely down in the viewing priority list for the Monday 9 p.m. EDT timeslot for me (behind Heroes and CBS Monday comedy block).

I thought there was too much crammed into the first episode. Cole Hauser's past could have been left ambiguous for a while, and Anthony Anderson's old partner is already redeeming himself. The last act seemed especially rushed, I hope it was a matter of running time, and not a producer's obsession with MTV hyper-editing.
I realize this isn't trying to be a realistic cop show, but I'm having trouble seeing how Cole Hauser could be a detective just two years after escaping prison doing a stint in the army.

There was an encore presentation last night, so I watched the whole thing, instead of dropping out shortly after the first commercial break. I was surprised and pleased to see that they used Blackwater mercenaries as the bad guys in this first episode. That was unbelievably timely, given the news out of Iraq this week. And the show was right, Blackwater also got involved in the post-Katrina cleanup, and they are indeed mercenary scumbags.

I watched the last 35 minutes or so. I thought it was okay. Might give the second episode a watch and judge from there. What's fun is that my wife grew up in New Orleans, so she was bitching about the locations left and right (Like why did they go from Jackson Square, to what I imagine is supposed to be Harrah's Casino, to some Nice mansion on the outskirts of town, to the Ninth Ward, to nearby the Superdome, etc.)

Because I was watching Prison Break before it, I stayed tuned in and checked out the show. It was okay, not as bad as the reviews said, but I don't know that I'll be going back. So much going on Monday nights.

well, tv shows often do that to new york and other cities, sometimes changing street signs to accomadate themselves. i guess they can't close off a 15 block radius at once, or just like lots of scenery:confused:

The second episode was must better
Although do think some guards would regonize the guy
it had a nice lot of action. Think I got to accept it a popcorn type cop show so the cops will act a bit riddicolus at times

Yeah, NYPD Blue, this ain't. These are the sort of cops who get into gunfights and car chases all the time. I wouldn't be shocked if at some point, one of them is forced to wrestle an alligator.
I made a mistake earlier, in thinking they were a pair of detectives.

I watched the first several minutes last night, long enough to find out that the murder scene indicated possible voodoo involvement. That was a make-or-break moment for me, where I was ready to completely give up on the show or else give it another try, depending on how they handled the voodoo angle. Anthony whathisname's character spoke up quickly, saying that he knew some about voodoo because he used to date a woman who was into it, and he said that this setup was bogus. Relieved that the writers didn't botch the voodoo angle, I settled in to watch the episode.
It was decent. There was an interesting subplot involving the ex-con that was handled pretty well, and the deserter guy came back to try to rejoin the force, still showing his crazy eyes everywhere. And the main plotline was resolved in the interrogation room, just like they used to do on that show Homicide. This was overall a pretty good show, and it feels like the quality of the writing is challenging these actors to elevate their game.

Haven't watched the show but over at EOnline they are reporting that this show already has a foot in the grave and is close to being cancelled due to ever plummeting ratings.

Sounds just like New Orleans, where the show takes place. Even before Katrina, the place was in decline, with a 20% drop in population from 1960 to 2000. Since Katrina, half the survivors haven't moved back.

Why would they move back when FEMA and local cities, like Houston, continue to extend the free pay programs?
