And Messiah Complex really has me intrigued. It deals with time travel apparently (which I normally loathe), but my guess is that it will ultimately clean a lot of this stuff up. At least that's what I'm hoping for. A true fresh start for the X-men. Can't wait to see just how shaken up everything is by this event!

Oh, and there's too many Wolverine books this month. If I'm saying it, then you know it's gotten bad.

Cable. It has to be him. I bet Cable gets the freaking baby and is on the run with it. Who else would it be that could force Cyclops into making a tough decision? Jean? Could Jean be returning? Unlikely. It's not his brother, not his daughter...maybe Emma breaks ranks and takes the baby? She's always been a do what it takes ask questions later type girl. Maybe she thinks she is the only one who can protect it. Still, my money is on Cable. We know he has a new solo coming out, they say it's unlike anything we've seen from him...so who knows. Cyclops vs Cable for the fate of mutantkind....I'm down for that.

Also...X-Men: First Class #7 sounds great. Love the two parters. It all sounds great. I'm getting so much.

Her last appearance was in Rogue's solo book. She was gunning for Rogue over stolen memories, and chopped off Sunfire's legs. So I'm not so sure she doesn't still have a grudge. :)

Some of these solicits sound like they were thrown together without much thought. Far too many "And"'s in the X Factor solicit, wheras the Exiles one is sloppy.

THREE DEATHS this month? One by Predator X in X Factor(what's up with that, the X-ers took on a whole batch of them but now one lone creature is racking up the mutants?), one in New X-Men, and possibly one in Astonishing...

Sounds like Madrox and Layla are the main players in the tale.

New X-Men cover is quite the dissapointment.

Exiles ending...I guess if the new series is great then it could be worth it...

This month has left a very dark cloud hanging over my head...

The Mutants Files get props for listing the New X-Men AND Anole haha but he's not on the cover so I take it back.

Freaky creatures from the Facility (In New X-Men) who were then coated with Mercury's "skin" when she was kidnapped and tortured.

The Astonishing and New team arrived and beat them all up, Mercury absorbed her stuff back, leaving them as bones. One got away.

Madrox Prime. But it seems a Madrox dupe and Layla are stuck in mutantkind's future. I'm still thinking Layla will grow up in this story somehow but i was wondering how Layla would grow up while madrox didn't if they were both swept into a timevortex. Guess this answers that question if i'm right. It might also explain why madrox prime is in a coma since his dupes are essentially part of him. If part of him is stuck in the future what would be the effect on Madrox prime?

Sure it may be a handbook but all the characters on the cover are characters who have appeared recently and have been important characters in recent stories.

The Astonishing and New team arrived and beat them all up, Mercury absorbed her stuff back, leaving them as bones. One got away.

Actually, i think that the Mighty Lupine X-Force Mutant Avengers (:D ) are working FOR Cyke, not against him. For me, this is the black-ops team that will replace Carey's X-men, but still working on a mission assigned by him, while the Uncanny team will be an opposing force or a team with different ideas and methods not related to the others.

The Initiative isn't good. That's my opinion, anyway. messy art, forgettable characters and very disjointed storytelling.

I've not liked New Warriors, either. I picked it up because of Jubilee and Sofia, but definitely not going to continue. Sofia's so completely different from her NXM character that they might as well just have created someone completely new.

Oh, I totally agree.

The Intiative is grabbing me in with Mutant Zero, a slight interest in Dani, and an undying love of teen superhero teams (though A:I is one of those rare cases where I haven't latched on to anyone at all). Guest-artist Steve Uy seems like he'll at least be more my style art-wise though, if the preview pages have anything to say about it.

New Warriors...has Sofia and Angel. I actually enjoyed the most previous issue a lot more than the others, but the focus was off those two so I didn't cringe.

No, it is set pre-Messiah Complex, but after this current arc. Marvel keeps saying "wait until is over" only so people actually believe they are not been spoiled by MC and decide to buy the last issues. But it is and we have been spoiled.

Well Jean being in her White Phoenix costume on that cover at least tells us that someone is paying attention.

Shes not 'dead' in the conventional sense. Shes on a higher plane doing her White Phoenix stuff.

They should just bring her back or at least show us what she is doing in the White Hot Room.

I wonder how they are going to explain/interpret the Jean/Phoenix connection in Mutant Files too.

Jean's last 'Official' Handbook bio (Book of the Dead) ignored her childhood Phoenix manifestation (Classic 42), encounter with Force as Marvel Girl (Hidden Years 8/9), Phoenix healing the M'Kraan Crystal, Inferno and Judgment Wars where she had a spark of the Phoenix, her use of the Phoenix in X-Men Forever, Here Comes Tomorrow, and her status as an Omega mutant and a White Phoenix of the Crown.

That bio also reduced her sublot in Morrison's run to one sentence.

The Phoenix Force bio just mentioned that it had touched Jean before the shuttle incident but did not go into detail and left out X-Men Forever and Here Comes Tomorrow.

Again Jean's big Phoenix story in New X-Men was reduced to like one sentence and Endsong only got a couple sentences, Yet the Amber Hunt/Ultraverse stuff got a huge paragraph.

The way I see it is that Layla and Jamie's subplot will run through the issues, but other stuff is going that they can't really solicit yet. Look at how brief X-Men's is -- again.

Carey does so many interviews anyway we should get enough to chew on by the time it comes. :)

I have read these kind of plots for YEARS. You'll see...it's pretty evident. And maybe Alex/Vulcan gets a little more screentime but it will probably be more action than dialogue and there is no way the issue is revolving around Rachel. It's seems to be a last page/panel type of thing.

I'm glad Rachel is finally going after those responsible for the Greys' death sentence.

The whole issue sounds fantastic, with Lorna leading the Starjammers and the Imperial Guard, Alex & Vulcan together and Rachel going crazy. But I hope they aren't all separated for the whole issue and doing their own things. Hopefully Alex or Lorna are there to talk Rachel down.
