I like his work. He's solid, and he could be a good fit with a series like this. Let's face it, Exiles isn't even consided a second rate book, so it's budget isn't going to land an artist like Brandon Peterson (although it would be nice), so a fast and solid artist like Grummett, along with a GOOD colorist, could make this a series to watch.
I can't stand musical artists on a series, so I would like a steady monthly guy to get aboard for about 25 issues or more. If not Grummett, how about second tier guys like Ron Garney, Andrea Di Vito, John Byrne (!!!), Scot Eaton, Mike Perkins, or Paul Pelletier again. Marvel needs consistant art for this series to survive. It's some of Claremont's best work in years! Marvel won't give him an artist that sells, like they do for Warren Ellis. It would be awesome if Claremont and Exiles had a Mike Deodato level artist. I bet it would sell like New Thunderbolts.

Yes he is. He's a Marvel exclusive artist, so he should be sticking around for a while.

You ask for too much if you honestly think a CC Exiles relaunch book will make it past 25 issues.
NEX wouldn't have even made it to 24 if not for the medical leave and Tieri's fill-ins.

What a waste of a perfectly good artist. If Marvel was kind, they'd let some amature artists fresh from art school to give it a go on a CC title.

Pretty arguable... one could also point to the momentum killer fill-ins and Claremont's health problems as culprits in the title's slide. It's possible had Claremont remained aboard and healthy that the title could've built towards something. Xtreme was a slow burn, with definite highs and lows, but it went somewhere eventually.
Doesn't matter now though that Cornell's going to finally deliver the Excalibur book we should've had all along. :D

I would agree that he is the perfect kind of writer to pair an up and coming penciller with, but at the same point I really don't rate Grummett that much.

I hope Grummet will work a long time with Claremont. He is a very good artist with a classic vibe that perfectly fit CC's writing. :)

I'm thinking Grummet is a good match. He's probably more a collaborator than just an artist (or at least The Power Company and Thunderbolts lead me to think so). Claremont needs a collaborator. I think it'll be good for him. Whether or not good stories will come from it is another matter.

Cool. I like his art. He was really good on Thunderbolts.
