Why?
That was a very cool universe
I'd love to see Tangent Supes and current Superman meet up, and then throw in Just Imagine Supes for good measure.

I guess it was too much to ask for the DCU titles I read to escape the whole Countdown/Final Crisis quagmire forever, but my heart sank when I read the first line of that Green Lantern solicit. Thankfully it doesn't sound too bad yet.

Well.. looks to be a good time to stop getting so damn many DC books. Really. What the hell? Tangent? A million and one Countdown spinoffs? THIS is DC? Screw it. I'm gonna stick to a core set of characters and creators I like and screw this Countdown crap.
Red Son? Crap. I still need to get the original mini.
Hey, DC, instead of milking one good story with a million spinoffs and crossovers, why not try to sell the book to more people? Quit trying to milk fanboys with crossovers and spinoffs and just sell good comics to everyone. Is it just me or is DC making itself so inbred they won't last in the long run?
Screw this. Screw DC. There are plenty of other publishers to support. Ones that are much healthier to the industry and its future.

Well, those are almost certainly the Independents then, since Marvel is doing pretty much the same thing as DC in terms of tying in a million different books into its "mega events".

I have to say. COUNTDOWN: ARENA sounds like one of the most vile books in DC history.

I agree to a point, I went from reading Countdown to wishing that Countdown would just go the hell away. I'm tired of it already and want nothing to do with the crossovers and hope none of the DC books I do still enjoy get too bogged down.
When I read this thing, I couldnt believe how many times the word Countdown appears. Its too much.

Perhaps we should retitle this thread: "Countdown to canceling all our DC subscriptions..." :D :D :D

Once the Green lantern story starts tieing into countdown that will be it for me. I will no longer be reading any dc books till final crisis is over. SO I figure that gives me about a 2 year break during that time. Things can happen and people can get fired.

Dont worry they decided to skip that issue and print it in an annual a few months after the mini is over. :p

Wouldn't surprise me. Or they'll have Starlin kill them.

Geeze... don't read the Countdown books... I confess it is pretty boring.
But umm... I read Red Son... I'd like to revisit that earth, I liked Tangent comicsspin offs, I like the sci fi aspects of alternate earths. JLA Earth 2 by Grant Morrison proved it can be fun....
Some writers will execute concepts better than others... but I find that judging books and calling em crap or crappy ideas before you've read one word is pretty silly...
However, that's just my opinion I could be wrong.
