I’m sad that the relationship between Erica and Detective Mercer didn’t grow into something more. They were so good together. Not to say I didn’t love the ending. I’m very happy that Erica didn’t wimp out in the end and killed all three thugs, especially the last one.

I wonder what’s going to happen to her now. Is she going to keep killing until she’s dead or caught? And what of the Detective Mercer? The last thug was shot in the back of the head so forensics won’t match. He could get in a lot of trouble.

I'm breaking my exile from the TV/Film board for this post to say that while I love Jodie Foster, this movie was utter crap.

Listen to "Stroke, people. If there is anyone(other than John Hinkley) that's a bigger fan and adorer of Jody Foster than "Stroke, I don't know who. And if HE thinks this movie is a stinker, then it is something to heed. So, I know that I won't be seeing this movie.

i respectfully disagree strokey...i think this is actually one of her *best* movies and i'm not a huge fan of foster's...i think it works as a great allegory for the frustration that people have when they are touched by violence...you get to see erica bane run the gamut and you get a real sense of how this one event alters her entire life...and there are just things that are great from a cinematic perspective, like the pointed silences and character interactions, the feeling of claustrophobia, and just the overall visual point of view from the protagonist's perspective...i'm not crazy about the ending but i understand it.

This movie, while not total crap, certainly did a passable rendition of crap. Not a tight movie by any means. Possibly better than the other Revenge d'jour movie with Kevin Bacon, though. I only say possibly, because the other movie had criminals that you wanted to die far more desperately.

Charles Bronson is rolling in his grave.
