It really looks fantastic. I'm so excited that they answered like everyones questions in the first few pages. lol And yay!

I've a little freaked that she's going to start learning/using magic now but at least the characterization they're using with her is completely different from Magiks. I think she's so cute and bubbly now that she talks a mile a minute:p

Oh you've got to love the digs that both Strange and Beast have had at Pixie, there. :D

I like her as a character, but you could see how she'd drive people crazy in pretty short order.

And it's about time the Astonishing X-Men realised that they need to put a bit more effort in with the kids.

I wonder if that crack about sending the kids to deal with Vulcan is a a comment about the fact Yost is now the writer tasked with dealing with Vulcan.

Pixie does remind me of some girls I knew in school - not that I didn't like them but I could only take them in small doses with long intervals in between. She's a lot of fun to read about, though.

The preview is looking great, it is just so sad that Marvel is taking away the artist that I feel was the best at it. At the very least I hope that Skottie's next job is something more high profile.

I'm worried about Dust. She's seems so depressed and out of it. She needs to heal her soul as much as Pixie. Maybe she'll start a friendship (or more) with Nehzno.

Maybe that's the 'new relationship' mentioned in the solicits. It's either those two, something with Anole, or something between Hellion and Surge, I reckon. Not sure why I suspect that third one. Think it's something to do with that whole 'thin line between love and hate' cliché.

Can't wait to see Pixie hanging around Strange's house with the New Avengers.:D

And is it just me, or does Wolverine act like a bit of a dick when it comes to the students? He knocked a bunch of them around in Astonishing, and called it training, he couldn't be bothered introducing them to Laura properly, just saying "she could kill you", not that long after the kids saw what Wolverine did to Northstar. And now he claims not to know who Rockslide is, even though he'd seen him in his lava form in Limbo.

I doubt there'll be anything between Hellion and Surge. That would create way too much drama. Laura and David would be both be pissed at Noriko and Julian. I can't see Noriko doing anything like that to David (though I could see Julian making a move on her).

I'd love it if the relationship was something with Anole, but I don't think they're going there right now. But I hope they do! :)

She won't be 18 for a while... especially as they age in comic book years. It think she's only 14 or 15 now.

You're right. When you look at all the stuff you mentioned, he's been very dickish towards them. He's like that towards a lot of people though. Maybe he should lead some training sessions for the team and get to know them better.

Maybe but, I thought (and I don't have the issues to hand) that Anole's arm was all normal in WWH: X-men.

Marvel continuity messes with your mind if you think too hard about it.

I almost wish they published an annual timeline type book or something on line to show what occured and in what order.

Trouble is she doens't seem very Welsh to me. Its the one thing about her characterization that irritates me. Just an occasional innit or dah out of her and I'd be very happy!

Do we know where in Wales she comes from? If it's the valleys, then you'd expect a strong accent, if it's North Wales, it could be unnoticeable.

To hand no, but given the 'stereotyping' of British accents in most Marvel books by most writers it'd be nice to see something! I don't think her Welshness has ever really been explored though.

I think Chris explained, I forgot if in PM or just on the boards, that Pixie adapted to being American already and this is how she came to be.
I imagine there is a SLIGHT accent still.

Maybe her favorite movie is Clueless?:)

I don't blame her though, foriegn teen wold definitley adapt to some things of her new country. This happens to be one of Pixie's I guess.

Just like the rest of year 2, this issue looks like it will be good.

But these kids (apart from Pixie and a few others) seem depressed! Hopefully they will get help, because they're only going to feel good about themselves keeping themselves occupied, going on missions... once you are back at the mansion, it's back to the sad reality, of feeling locked in, death of friends and constant changes... they will just feel very paranoid, sad and empty.

Hopefully, C&C will let Emma try and help them.

As for the X-Men, seriously it's about time they actually taught these kids some real school information. Each one of them will bomb any question on an SAT.

Student Respone: Punch proctor in face cause he's probably evil. Not like they knew the answer anyways as the classroom is always being destroyed every other day.

Hm.. the art. Well, I like some panels and not others. I feel that some of them are a bit "sketch-y", and I personally don't like that kind of art. The scene with the AX team... too sketch-y. I liked the Megan/Nez/Sooraya scene art though. And I love the Vic/Laura/Santo pool table scene that we saw in X-Position yesterday.

Can't wait for this.

For me, THIS kind of X-Men arc (where they're all together, talking, a bit of drama etc) beats the fight-y kill the bad guys all the time scenes. I do like action in NXM, but as they are teens, I do feel more "teen" relacted stuff at the school should be included.

This just looks like ULTIMATE awesomeness. I loved every line of the preview. From Scott admitting they don't even know the kids to the way Cess asked them their ages...it all feels very human and organic...love it!

Some of the dialogue is just genius, like Beasts comment about hoping Strange will take Pixie early...

No, Hellion is an A Grade student, or atleast was during N&C's run on the book. Might have been the New Mutants series it was stated in.

I don't expect Dust would be that intelligent...hasn't exactly had much chance for studying in her life...

And Josh was more the C-grade jock type, but now he has McCoys knowledge so yeah, he's in.

I think I had just about the same reaction as Pixie did when I read that bit about Gentle, I guess someone besides Wither had to fill the "powers with consequences" slot with the new kids.

It's interesting that Skottie can utilize 2 almost completely different art styles in the span of 2 issues. It's not as clean as his art in "Quest for Magik", but it's still quite enjoyable. It's kind of like the style he uses on some of the covers he's been doing on Cable & Deadpool. His rendition of Kitty reminds me a bit of the X-Men:Evolution version. :D

I agree with you on needing a few down time issues, this one was such a nice change of pace, where everyone takes a breather, and we actually get to see the fall out from all the stuff that's happened to them so far.

You've listed the teleportation as something seperate, and that I'll give you, you have reason enough to not like her being a magic user. But that's the only change! Her personality is exactly the same. Surely the black streaked hair and black wings aren't reason enough for you to be down on her?

She doesn't need to sound Welsh (in the godawfull cliched accent way of Marvel, not to mention Welsh being the hardest to pull off, that's IF she's a valley girl), but British slang/colloquialisms would make me very happy - make me even happier if they were northen and bechod/cariad et al would make me ecstastic.

Then again if she ever says "ass"/"soccer" I may see red...

(I just wanna know where the heck she's from, so far we've got Poptopia bimbette from 'didno :( )

I dunno, it kinda makes sense for her to be all magical with the fairy theme going on. And yes, her personality is the same, it just bothers me that it seems like every character needs to go through all this dramatic experiences in order to be on the team. Sometimes it works, like with Rockslide, making the character more interesting, or making them mature, like Hellion and Elixir. But what did it do for Pixie? She's the same, except with bad hair and, so far, lame magical teleportation powers that don't really go with her and make her kinda look like a Magik rip-off. That's sort of what I meant with the unnecessary changes. Maybe it's just too soon, and if we see her do something creative with it that benefits her character I'll feel different. The Doctor Strange tutoring is a neat idea for example, but it seems like we won't be seeing that for a while.

Preview pages of one issue. If someone had read #31 and thought "oh, big things for Hellion" then they'd have been very disappointed by what they saw in #32. "man, the guy is just asleep for the whole issue".

There will be more to Pixie, but it'll take more than one issue for us to find out what's in store.

I didn't even know Pixie was Welsh. In that case, it's a matter of doing some homework to learn just a few tidbits of slang, i suppose.

I do feel she is a bit different. I dunno, I can see what some people are saying to a certain degree. I mean, I got the impression that she was more cutesy, bubbly. Like whenever she talks, you get cavities because she's so sweet.

She sounded like she was two years older in that preview. I can see her being more like that after another year ( a few more arcs) of characterization. But i do agree, I don't know what i think of it either. I'll just have to see.

I'm glad Astonishing is taking responsibility (too got-damn late, though:p )

Interesting to know that Nehzno's tats are vibranium.

Issue 32 was nice and quiet. The closest that came to an action scene was Santo making fun of Vic and Ben. Or maybe Hellion inadvertently came close to being savaged by Laura, when dreaming about Sofia.

The action was in all the intense flashbacks. I'm talking about if the issue is JUST the way the preview has been so far. (with the exception of Father Matthew)-Nothing but different view points of characters dealing with everything up to this point.

Yeah I'll have it more or less on time again maybe a day or two after it comes out rather than the usual week or so I hafta wait for my titles thanks to my wondrous supplier sending off a preview copy with the rest of this weeks releases :D

I ALMOST skipped the preview too but alas...

Pixie may just have Welsh in her family...she doesn't necessarily come from Wales.

I absolutely adore her now, she's possibly edged others out to be in my top 3!

EDIT: ARGH! I was scrolling from the bottom up of the New X-Men thread at comixfan and accidentally uncovered a bit of spoilerage!!!! Only like 6 words but it was big!! GODDAMMMNN!!!!
