Hisako has her Cleopatra hair back!
However, I saw Rockslide and immediately thought Thing even though I know better.

I love David Finch's art...that man needs an X-Men ongoing.
Korvus and Marvel Girl's relationship is already done by issue one - or is it? It seemed very sudden to introduce it in "Uncanny" and then have it gone by the first issue of "Emperor Vulcan." Is there more romance coming?
Yes, but it's Korvus/Ch'od.
I just spit up my powerade.

Is that Alex at the top in the orange? I can't find him on this cover. If so, I do not like his new look at all.
And damn it. Chris avoided the X-23 question. Tsk,tsk.

Hey, they fixed the goofy looking books for New X-Men #44.
They still have the gauntlets, but the boots were the bigger eyesore. Thank god!

I'm frankly glad he's gone. I really dislike his artwork. He makes Bachalo look good.
That was one hot Finch cover!

Some DAMN good New X-Men Art there!
I'm looking foward to seeing that cover coloured!
And, Chris knows nothing about X-Force? Yeah Rrrriiiight! lol.

Nope, that's Titan, one of the Imperial Guard members.
I think Skottie was especially suited for the New X-Men. They looked like the kids that they are supposed to be.
That said, I really do like the Finch cover.
That Finch new x-men drawing looks amazing.
Plus burning buildings! Can't go wrong with that.

Is that regular Rockslide on Finch's page or Caliban Rockslide? And the Anole arm is a little downplayed...still good art though.
I'm going to miss Skottie's art so much. Those pages look fantastic. I also have high hopes for Ramos. Don't disappoint me, Humberto.
I hope Chris and Craig stay on New X-men (or whatever) post MC. I think they've done a great job. :)

After the first issue, the series is actually called "Lorna beats up Alex." The Vulcan stuff was just to get people in the door. Is Lorna sick of it? Yes. And so am I. And so are you. Alex Summers is one of the most powerful mutants on the planet, one of the "12," an X-Man, he led X-Factor, he did crazy stuff in "Mutant X," and generally kicks ass. So if we need to slap Alex around a little to get him up to snuff, then we shall.
LOL! Beautiful. I can't wait to see Lorna punk out Alex over and over again.

Now I'm really going to miss Skottie Young's art on this book. It took a while to win me over, but these pages for #42 are just brilliant.
Way to raise my expectations just in time for Ramos to take over. Thanks for that. :(
Say want you like about Kyle and Yost, but they do love teasing people with their interviews. Though I think Korvus and Ch'od would make a lovely couple.
Based on issue 1 of the Vulcan mini, it seems Yost has managed to kindle my interest in an X-Men in space story. That's unheard of.
I wonder if Laura's stroppy because Anole's beating her at pool, or whether it's just her general cantankerousness.
Is it too much to ask for Finch and Cho to become the regular artists on Uncanny and whatever other teambook might exist after MC, that isn't X-Force?

Skottie looking great.
Finch is looking PHENOM. I hope all this cover art is gearing towards Finch on a title.

I love that Havok referred to Havok as "one of the twelve". Maybe someday Marvel will re-do or retcon this story properly with Poccy, Franklin Richards, Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Havok, Storm, etc as the real twelve. Does anyone else remember who else was originally confirmed as part of the group?

Wow, what a fun little X-Position. I've been liking Chris and Craig's work since their tenure on X-Men:Evolution, and their New X-Men, especially as of late, is no exception. This upcoming issue is definitely a treat. :D
And Young's work is excellent as well, I wonder what his next project will end up being?
Emperor Vulcan's also been quite good so far, a vast improvement IMO over what Brubaker's done in "Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire".
I actually won't be too opposed to seeing them stay in space, but it would be nice if they popped back to earth once and a while to visit their fellow mutants and say "hi".

He's doing the three crossover parts, and then heads to Runaways.

I have a good feeling that SKottie Young is going to be the regular artist on one of the X-Men books in 2008, after the Messiah Complex story is over, and the X-Universe books are redone.
It looked to me like Santo and Laura were picking on Victor.

But Laura doesn't joke. Just wait until you see what they're asking poor Vic. :p
And I do hope that Skottie gets a regular job at Marvel too. His art is just too awesome. I like his about the same that I like Bachalo's, and that's quite a lot. :D

Hisako looks fantastic! Glad to see her there and mingling with the kids beyond Blindfold and her Wing hallucenations.
LOL congrats Anna! Glad to have you back!
I'm sad that Rockslide starts looking like Caliban again after the next issue.
Maybe he joins X-Force too?

I can't wait for the next few issues of NXM they look great :)
Wonder if Yost or Kyle is going to be writing X-Force? I don't know why but I've got a feeling one of them will, good thing I'm always wrong about this stuff- they're doing great things with the book they're on, be a shame if they were moved elsewhere plus I'd have to buy X-Force if they were writing it and I really hate what I've seen of it so far:D

Given QFM had 2 of the better issues of their run, I'd really prefer the sole writer of that arc to take the reigns.

lol took me ages to figure out what QFM meant :o I missed 40 and 41, comic book store had sold out of everything I wanted by the time I'd got there so there's loads of X-stuff I haven't seen from the past 2 months (I'm very sad atm :( ), so I might not have read the two you're talking about.
I don't mind if one of them goes as long as the book remains as good as it is now :D

I am not talking about that horrid story in 1999. I am talking about the original from back in the 1980's that Claremont and Simonson were building towards. In some issue of X-Factor, Apocalypse, Franklin Richards, Marvel Girl, Cyclops, Storm and Havok among others are shown on panel as part of the twelve. But later during Inferno explicit references are made to the XFC and UXM teams are being "the twelve".

Professor X, Cyclops, Iceman, Archangel, Beast, Jean Grey, Storm, Apocalypse, Mirage, Franklin Richards, Cannonball, Psylocke

Man, those Skottie Young panels look gorgeous. I really, really like the sketchy style he's using there. I wish he'd never leave the book, he's a perfect fit for New X-Men.
Now I'm dissapointed to have Ramos afterwards...
And how cynical is Yost, saying that they had to warp and twist Anole and Pixie a little bit, in order to get into the team, because that's what they do to children... Jeez, do you think it's possible things got a little grim?
Still, during this time between issues I think I finally got over what he did to them. :p
Children of X-Men is gonna be awesome!

this, however, sounds really promising. havok is a favorite of mine.
who wouldn't like a Havok/Nova team-up?
this would also be cool.
skottie's work looks good as usual. ramos' looks okay.

Some great stuff!
The Humberto interior looks ok...nothing more.
Skotties pages for the upcoming issue are insane!
Just what are Laura and Santo asking poor Vic?
Maybe they're accusing him of being hot for Julian haha...
Finch's cover looks great in places and poor on others. Rockslide is totally thing-like. Why's he got those ears? And where the frig is his trademark craggy jaw?!
Anole arm is good except for giving him a glove on that arm and making the forearm the smallest part when it should be the largest. Plus he doesn't appear to have any spikes on his carapice?!
And is that Julian with the uuuber long hair?
The girls all look awesome though :)
Toboe

I agree all girls on Finch's cover look great, but the guys... We got Thing-like Rockslide, crappy looking Anole, and a terrible Hellion with uber long hair...
Pixie's wings are a little weird too.
On Ramos previews, I really like the way he does Hellion and Pixie. Elixir looks good sometimes. But his Surge is dreadful. And please, please, David needs to get rid of those glasses...

Mother Askani was the one who gave Cable the information on who the 12 were. Maybe she included Havok to boost his confidence. :D
