View Full Version : The Wachowski Brothers Are No More
Cinematical reports on the completion of a sex change operation. Yes folks, we're going there. According to Rated-M, the man formerly known as Larry Wachowski has officially completed his full sex change. Now, I'm not sure whether he had an actual operation, or if he just underwent hormone treatments (I'll admit to not being an expert in this area), but Larry is now Lana Wachowski. Say goodbye to referring to the writer-director duo as the Wachowski Brothers; I imagine from here on out, the PC thing to do will be to call them The Wachowskis, or Lana and Andy Wachowski. Which is fine by me. If a sex change helps make a person feel more complete, and subsequently brings happiness to their lives, then I'm all for it. On behalf of Cinematical, we wish Lana good luck moving forward.

Not much to say - just found this interesting.

I thought this had already been completed a few months back.
In any case, good for Lana.
I hope her and her brother improve the quality of their future films a bit, however.

I'd have happily removed his bollocks with a scalpel after sitting through The Matrix Reloaded.

But will they ever make a good movie again?

I suppose it is too much to ask an Internet "journalist" to know the word "siblings."

But will they ever make a good movie again?Ah, thats not relevant, we're talking about a sex-change here.....Movies, *pfft*
BTW- The story is apprently bogus anyway, but it does raise certain questions as to why it would surface in the first place -- Has Larry been an overt cross-dresser in the past, or did someone completely pull this story out of their arse?

I liked that one. Now Revelations....

It looks like the application of an ecological rule: the Weekly World News having gone extinct, its niche in the pop-culture ecosphere must be filled by someone else.
I'm sure that Bat-boy will get his own sex-change soon, or convert to scientology, or date one of the Olsen twins.

Maybe it's more gossip-sheet nonsense, but I remember reading that Larry is a cross-dresser. Whether there's anything more to it than that I don't know.

I still haven't seen that one. Reloaded put me right off - I'm just going to stick with the original and pretend the brothers stopped making movies after that.

I'm pretty sure he is a cross-dresser. If I remember correctly, he appeared at Comic-Con in women's clothes back when they were promoting V for Vendetta.

Bound is great. The Matrix is great. Let's assume they retired after making these two great films of the late 90's and decided to become plumbers or something more productive than the people who fucked up the Matrix franchise & V For Vendetta.
I don't know, I think Speed Racer could do with a woman's touch. Maybe that will be good.

Actually, the last time I watched The Matrix, I revised my opinion of the series to say that the series contains only one half to maybe two thirds of a good movie, because the franchise definitely starts going downhill before the first one even ends.

Well I thought the ending was crap, but on a whole the first one is pretty damn good. Sadly the other two are such a mess it isn't even funny

Yeah, I'll give them Bound and The Matrix - flawed as they both are. Everything since has been such a tragic waste of potential; it's like if River Phoenix had lived and gone on to appear in stuff like High School Musical. Maybe.

The story was going around a few years back that Larry was going through a sex change operation, which was debunked and then it went around that he was a cross dresser. I don't know whether that's true, and I really don't know why this rumour resurfaced considering how low profile the Wachowski's have been recently, even for them.

Didn't they do some reshoots on that Nicole Kidman Body Snatchers remake? The Invasion or whatever it's called? Maybe that's put their name around a bit.

Apparently but that's a film that just screams 'disaster' to me.
