Not everyone shares your opinion.... sales stunk, so it got changed to a mini even though it was supposed to be ongoing, which in turn caused creative problems in the book that made it even worse....

Some stories are evidently going to be told in the new Marvel Comics Presents.

I thought it was a lot of fun myself, but I did not think it was the greatest thing of all time. I wonder why sales were so low? Is it predicated merely upon the fact that that the team was based in Canada?

one thing is for sure; USAgent rocks.

USAgent was hilarious in that comic!

I love when it shows Sasquach hanging the guy from the wreaking crew by the neck with a chain and you seem him almost apper to break his neck and die, it shows a small horizontal panel with all of the team members faces showing jaw dropped shock at what they are seeing, exept when it gets to the panel with the USAgent and you see him with a big smirk on his face, LOL

I really enjoyed the art and I thought the battle scenes were very awesome with lots of detail of the fight as it unfolds.

Marvel basically changed it because they chickened out and played it safe to gage how well it would do which made the creative team suffer all the more due to such abrupt changes.

They even slapped the Initiative banner on it to get people to buy it due to the Civil War aftermath craziness.

Where did this poor sales BS come from? Last I checked, Omega Flight had stable sales. Around the 50k range.

I thought it was bad.

It wasn't changed because of poor sales, it couldn't have been because it was demoted before the first issue was even released. It was probably projected that no one would care and sales would tank, though. So it's just as good. The fact that they weren't the old Alpha Flight was thought to alienate the traditional Alpha Flight readers, and the fact that it was Omega Flight and thusly a Canadian based group didn't really scream "new readers" the American fanbase.

I fucking love what I read, and usually love U.S. Agent, Bill, and Sasquatch in general. But even I can admit that it probably didn't rock the high sales, though I have no idea if that actually the truth, I can see the possibility.

Aside from Kolin's depiction of Sasquatch, I found the whole thing entirely boring. Wrecking Crew? Could there be a more uninteresting set of villains? And the "Great Beasts" didn't look all that great.

And I never really liked USAgent or Arachne.

Mercifully, the project was put down like an old dog. The writing was snooze-inducing.

Just finished re-reading it this week, and I can safely say there were so really good characters in there (I especially liked US Agent, and Beta Ray), however the whole thing was just not as great as I was hoping for.

Ah well, I guess I should be greatful it wasn't drawn by Chaykin!

It was alright it was'nt amazing and you can tell the move from Ongoing to Mini really hurt the pacing. A series needs amazing sales to really become steady and receive ongoing status.

Doctor Strange The Oath is an example of this, despite being amazing it only sold so-so and that in finanical term means it really is'nt strong enough to continue. (Though the way BKV says it he lays the blame at Bendis adding Strange to the New Avengers)

Besides the upcoming Guardian story in MCP, Kollins or Oeming said that someone (not them obviously) is doing something with Sasquatch. Hopefully not Jeph Loeb. So for now I guess that's all we get.

Please not Loeb. 'Squatch is one my faves, I don't need to see him decapitated in some horribly anticlimactic fight scene.

Man the first two issues were pretty cool. It had the potential for a great book. Good team dynamic, great creators, hell it was the brainchild of some great writers. But after 3 more issues I see why it went down hill. Just the same normal team up book we've seen a dozen times. And they got rid of Beta Ray Bill so they got rid of me in the process. All in all it seemed like an average read.

It was a fun book, the art was decent and the writing was good. It wasn't all that it could be but there were reasons for that.

There was too little Beta Ray Bill for my taste though.

As a fan who is relatively uninformed about the Alpha Flight series, I initially did not like this Omega Flight series.

The first issue and a half were great, as they dealt with the blowback from Civil War (as was promised in the advertisements). After the Wrecking Crw started to drag Sasquatch to Toronto, though, it went down hill. I didn't know anything about the Great Beasts, so I didn't really get what was going on. The last 3 books were almost incomprehensible to me, and I really didn't like them all that much. However, I came here and had some people give me the backstory on Tanaraq and the Great Beasts. After that, I read it again and enjoyed it much more than I did initially.

IMO, the two problems that this book had was that 1. it wasn't very accessable to non-Alpha Flight readers and 2. it didn't really have much to do with Civil War or the Initiative, despite being advertised as an Initiative book.

There was a great discussion about this series back in mid-July here. I'm sure its around somewhere. If you're really interested in people's reactions to this series, then I strongly suggest that you go back and find it.
