I put this on my pull list recently. I enjoyed it. I'll see how much I like it as it continues. I did find the story to be a bit predictable. It just seemed very familiar.

I found it to be difficult to tell the characters apart. Apparently, others have had the same issue. This kind of bugged me.

There was quite a bit of hacking and slashing in #1.

i felt the same, i enjoyed it very much and it reminded me of a book i read back in 86 called crow of the bear clan, which is a good thing.

had the same problem, it's a little hard to tell the children from the adults too.

i'm in for the next few issues.

Well, now that the journey is underway, I think telling mice apart will become much easier. After all, we went from a village of mice to two.

I loved everything about it and this news means we'll be seeing Karic for a long time to come!

Kinda reminded me of a mix of a typical 'mouse' adventure, with the movie, Secret of Nimh. I know, I read the interviews with the creators arguing against their idea being a take on... and I think this book was very well done, but although I like Mike's art very much, his ideas for his books are not the most innovative things I've seen. Most of his books being ideas already done.

oh, and a BIG shoutout to our own, Mary Brickthrower for getting that mention at the back!! That was cool to see her name there! :) Congrats Mary!

I just finished reading it, and enjoyed it a great deal. I suspect that this is one of those books that will benefit from rereading it a second or third time (and that's not a bad thing).

I just read it as well. It started out kind of confusing and hard to decipher between conversations and who was who, but by the end I was definetly drawn in. I'll be around to check out #2.
