Nicola Scott’s art on Birds of Prey / What is your verdict ?

Nicola Scott has been the regular penciler for Birds of Prey since from issue #100 up to the current issue.

How do you assess her artwork in the Birds of Prey so far ? There is a poll so please vote your opinion. However, please kindly back up the reason why you voted that way.

For example:

Comment on the Elements of his art form. By this I mean the components that he uses to create the actual piece of art: Like his Lines, Shape, Form, use of Space, Texture, Value, etc.

Comment on the Principles of his art form. By this I mean his the different ways he can organize a piece of art, and also how the elements of art can be arranged for different effects, and create composition: Like his Rhythm, Movement, Balance, Contrast, Variety, Emphasis, Harmony, Unity, Pattern, etc.

As I was reading the last issue, I actually remarked on how much I liked the art. Really clean. Works great with the series.

I like Nicola Scott’s art on Birds of Prey. Her characters are well proportioned. Both male and female have their own distinction. I liked her rendition of the Secret Six, especially in the action sequences against Huntress and her team. You can almost tell the demeanor of the characters by the way she draws the body posture. Just look at the quiet moments between Catman and Huntress. All I can say is she did not disappoint, and I hope she gets more bigtime work. After her tenure in Birds of Prey, I’d like to see her take over Superman/Batman and revitalize that series.

It's typos. Thanks for pointing it out Jack Zodiac. It's great to have a moderator point out mistakes so it can be put into attention and corrected.

Holy crap, I'm confused. But I figured out why you kept referring to her as "him" and "he." Copypasta.

So you know, there's an "edit" button. You don't need a mod to fix that for ya'.

As for Nicola's art, I think it's good, and a great fit for Birds of Prey, but there's no stylization or anything that makes it stand out from most comic book art.

I just picked-up the recent Birds of Prey issue. Man is Nichola Scott's work on this series solid. I hope she's with the BoP team in the long haul...no matter who the writer is.

I liked the way she captured Superman and the fear in Oracle and the girls...knowing that Supes is keeping an eye on them. And not on a friendly way either.

Hmmm did she do any work on later issues of L.E.G.I.O.N.? Her style is very reminiscent of the artwork around issue numbers 61 and soonafter. Will have to pull these ones out of the box and have a look.

regardless, I love it. especially suited to the Zinda-romp that was BoP #112, loads of fun!

I'd like to Nicola on some other titles in addition to BoP. It's hard to judge a person's resume/work on just one gig. But I enjoy her work on BoP a lot and it's a great fit. She started with a bang with #100 (The Anniversary Issue) and #101 "Manhunted". Some of her best work so far was during the BoP/Secret Six story arc. It was a fantastic story arc anyway, but it was aided by terrific art work. I thought she did a good job with the one issue she did with Bedard #110 "The Fan Club" . I was excited to see her back on #113 with the current writer McKeever. She'll only get better if given a chance.

Nicola's art is great. Clean lines. Bold figures. Just great.

Yeah. Good clean art. It's also seems very consistant compared to many others. She's a keeper. Though I think she's sadly moving off BoP. Though happily she's moving into Secret Six if I rememember right.
