David Aja has been the regular penciler for Immortal Iron Fist from issue #1 to the current issue.

How do you assess his artwork in the Immortal Iron Fist series so far ? There is a poll so please vote your opinion. However, please kindly back up the reason why you voted that way.

For example:

Comment on the Elements of his art form. By this I mean the components that he uses to create the actual piece of art: Like his Lines, Shape, Form, use of Space, Texture, Value, etc.

Comment on the Principles of his art form. By this I mean his the different ways he can organize a piece of art, and also how the elements of art can be arranged for different effects, and create composition: Like his Rhythm, Movement, Balance, Contrast, Variety, Emphasis, Harmony, Unity, Pattern, etc.

I like it but he seems more than a little like a second rate Alex Maleev.

Its like some sort of magic when the right writers , the right artists and the stars align to tell great stories. Immortal Iron Fist rules . Its the best Marvel book on the stands. Spread the word.... :)

If Yu ver gets taken off New Avengers (which i hope doesnt happen, but seeing as how Yu splits opinion so much, its very possible) i think Aja would be the PERFECT replacement. His art is gritty and dark, and does physical close fight scenes fantastically.

Aja doesn't draw flashbacks. Don't know why.

Issue #7 definitely was not a fill-in.

By all that is holy don't wish that. Lets hope this entire team stays togethor. I don't wanna see Marvel move them or anything.

He knocked Maleev from my number 1 spot.

I love Aja's work
Aja doesn't draw flashbacks. Don't know why.The same reason why flashbacks are filmed using different techniques than present time in movies and tv.

I still have Maleev #1, but Aja's a strong #2 and gaining for me. I absolutely love IIF, great book.

Like every other aspect of the book, Aja's art is exceptional. I just picked up the hardcover the other week as I'm a fan of just about everything Brubaker has done, and Fraction is always interesting. I was absolutely floored, and Aja's art was a huge part of that.

I don't really get the disparaging comparisons to Maleev, though. I just read the Decalogue and Murdock Papers trades to catch myself up on Daredevil so that I could segue into Brubaker's run, and found Maleev's art to be a little clunky. While they both have a certain angularity, and both artists are fond of heavy shadowing, Aja's seemed much more expressive, especially with facial expressions. But I fully admit that I'm a bit better versed in writing technique than art.

Aja is one of my favorite artists, and I love his work on Immortal Iron Fist. What he's doing now on the series is some of the best stuff i've seen. I can't wait for more.

David Aja is such a great fit in this series. What do you think about his designs on the mystical combatants on the Mortal Kombat-like story line so far ?

I gave him 4 stars. He can prolly get better but his art is very good.

I dont rate him as high as Lark for example but i like him more than Maleev who art style is similer to Aja's.

Aja should be one of the next star artist. I hope he stays on Iron Fist for a long time. He will soon have his pick of books to pencil I bet.

I think the art in this book rivals that of Green Lantern as far as being the best. Captain America is up there as well.

He's my favourite artist at the moment, absolute magic on Iron Fist.

The colouring is gorgeous too (Matt Hollingsworth as I just found out) perfect tone.

Aja's artwork is very moody and atmospheric, which suits a title like Iron Fist. His character work is very good, although there have been a couple of very minor proportion problems on a couple of panels.

First and foremost, what impresses me about Aja is that his characters have a definite flow and sense of motion to them, an absolutely essential quality for pencilling a martial arts book.

Aja's work on Iron Fist is brilliant. He is amazingly talented. This book is by far my favorite Marvel title, and his artwork is one reason why.

I'm going to miss David Aja's work on this series very much. If let's say Matt Fraction left and David Aja stayed on to work on this title post-Matt Fraction, I would still probably pick up this title.

After all half of what I liked is David Aja's interpretation of Matt Fraction's script. And it flowed smoothly and had a great noir feeling and added respect and perhaps cemented Iron Fist's legacy with this current work on a classic 2nd tier Marvel character.

I hope one day David and Matt comes back to work on Immortal Iron Fist...if the new craetive team doesn't destroy the title into oblivion ...
