Wow, just a week after #41, #42 is on sale: September 12 2007. Oh, shit, I wonder what will happened to the survivors, will they kill Carol (The Crazy Lady who got bitten in #41). I bet someone will hesitate.

After seeing the cover, I thought maybe Dale would be given a prosthetic leg. However, I'm not sure there is time between the events of last issue and this issue. I guess it's just an early image that they decided to use.

Whoops! Guess there won't be any weird, torrid threesomes in the works for Rick, Lori and Crazy Carol now...

Can we post spoilers in this thread, or should I start a different one?

I can't believe the last page. I freaking knew this was going to happen. It appears that our crew has some serious things to take care of.

Damn you Kirkman....and bless you at the same time.

I doubt they'd have too many prosthesis sitting around the prison infirmary, but I'm sure Dale would be wanting one at this point. Rick too for that matter. Problem is, any medical facility that would stock those would probably be near a population center, and as we all know, a population center ain't where you want to be due to the likelihood of infestation. So barring any attachment of chainsaws and boomsticks to their stumps, I doubt we'll be seeing any artificial limbs anytime soon.

That's why it says "NO #42 Spoilers" cause the shipment might be late or I might buy it late.

Yeah, if there's one thing this series is good at, its cliffhangers. And color me surprised too! Makes sense the prison would have a wood shop. I should've thought of that. Aarrhhh, avast Pirate Dale.
Anybody want to start a betting pool on who gets kakked next issue? Rick and friends are looking a little unprepared here. Even if Andrea makes it up to the watchtower and starts popping rounds off, that tank will still easily knock its way through the fence, allowing a horde of both zombies AND armed rednecks through. My money is on Herschel buying it. For some reason, I think he's a prime candidate, not sure why.

I can only hope that Herschel buys the farm. Heh-heh. :evilsmile I've hated him since his first appearance. Please, Mr. Kirkman, PLEASE whack Hersh in #43!

If Andrea or Michonne die, I'm mailing a bomb. :D

Oh, no doubt. If Kirkman kills off the two strongest female characters in this series, he's making a serious mistake. I would hate to see Dale buy it after just getting that peg leg. Also, I don't see Tyrese going out either. Kirkman always says that nobody is exempt, but I really hope that Rick isn't given the chop. He really is the heart of this series and I think it would hollow out any real sense of narrative it has if he were to be killed off. I think that it would ultimately hurt this series and that fan interest would melt away if Rick were to die.
So who does that leave us? Who is arguably expendable? For shock value, I'd say Allen and Donna's twins, which is sickening to me. But then again, this is a horror story and we've already seen that children aren't off the playing field (ie. Thomas and Herschel's daughters). Patricia has had zero character development and has been drawn to look a little more dowdy in the last couple of issues, so maybe Kirkman's getting bored with her. Billy and Axel are finally getting a little bit of development lately and it would be a shame to see that fall by the wayside, but ya never know. I'm sad to say that if I were a betting man, the odds are looking good that Glenn and Maggie might not make it. They're too happy together, too content. And you know what THAT means in all the scary movies....
