Would Marvel be crazy enough to make yet another Wolverine centric book called...The Lupine Avengers (thanks Brian Moranor):

It will consist of furry characters who have virtually NOTHING in common:

Wolverine
Feral
Thornn
Sasquatch
Beast
Wild Child
Sabretooth

Did I leave anyone out? I know, it can be part of the neverending Civil War Intiative somesuch crossover! Written by Jeph Loeb! Art by primadonna artist #2! It's a monthly book that only comes out once a year!

We could toss in X-23 and Dakken as the spunky youngsters who get into trouble.

Villian...well that's easy it's Romulus.

Also Wolfsbane, in her terrible riish accent, we need her on the team, she brings a much needed drinking problem. Every team needs the drunk.

It'd be cool if WildChild had Sabertooth's severed head on a chain around his neck.

You missed a resurrected Vivisector from X-Statix out.

He could be the boffin member of the team.

Wolverine
Man-Wolf
Thornn
Sasquatch
Jack Russell, Werewolf By Night

I'd leave Feral and Sabertooth off because they are dead, and Wildchild because he's bad.

TIGRA!

Mine would be:
Wolverine
X-23
Sasquatch
Tigra
Hepzibah

With Thornn as their secretary!

Werewolf by Night is a good cast member; however, just because Sabretooth & Wild Child are dead does not mean they cannot be members of the Lupine Avengers! Since when does any recent Marvel editor pay attention to continuity & follow it? Hardly never! Sabretooth & Wild Child are a part of the Lupine team regardless...

Yea...although I had envisioned those two as kinda trouble makers on the team, like during a battle or something Dakken pushes a button by accient and Wolverine shouts out DAKKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!!!! You know, ala Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Exactly, like Cay had said, Wild Child could carry Sabes head around. Becuase of Sabertooth's healing factor he developed a small sack of organs around where his neck is, thus allowing him to remain alive and be comedic relief.

Why do I have this strange memory of Captain America and others maskless as some werewolf looking superhero, shield and all?

I've had this in my head for the longest time, I can't remember where it came from, I thought this thread would shed some light on it but I guess I'm just insane after all.

I don't know. Silverclaw can transform into any animal besides a lupine being.

The Scots don't deserve it. It'd be like the US granting Alabama freedom - would make no issue to the country as a whole but would be horrible to see folks try and make it on their own.

There could be an off-shot of Wolverine's Lupine Avengers, Mighty West Coast...led by Sasquatch and Wendigo and Grizzly...etc.

Lupine Flight...
Lupine Order
New Lupine Warriors...

Seriously, I need to trademark the name Lupine.

The Lupine Masters of Evil, the Lupine Fearful Four...

Still, with all the lupines running around, they need a new villain called...Tick Lord; it's a normal tick supercharged by Wolverine's blood & given sentience. He lives in Hairy Limbo...:evilsmile

Um...that's not a bad idea. I always thought it'd fun to do a story where Wolverine gains new time travel powers. His claws are soooooooooooooo sharp that they cut the very fabric of time. He goes around and buggers famous redheads and Roma, on a jealous trip, try's to stop him. You could call it Clawtime Capers Dark Saga Onslaught.

It makes me cry when people call wolverines lupine! They're mustelids! MUSTELIDS I SAY!

Related to weasels, badgers, and other such things.

Likewise bears are not lupine! Nor tigers!

Bears are ursine, tigers feline!

He's got a point there, let's call it the Furry Avengers so we can attract that critical Yiffer market.

According to Jeph Loeb Sasquatch and pretty much any mutant/hero w/ hair is a Lupine.

OMIGOD LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

And can I just say for the record, I was involved in the infamous naming and discussion of said 'Lupine Avengers' along with Brian. Back when we were teasing our beloved Wolvie/Loeb fan(s).

The Lupine Avengers is going to be the next big thing at Marvel. They've done House of M, they've Decimated mutants, they've given us a Civil War, and then a World War Hulk, and they've even Initiated us. But now, prepare yourselves for the yearlong epic: THE QUEST OF THE LUPINE AVENGERS SAGA!!!!

Wolverine! Sasquatch! Wolfsbane! Thornn! Feral! Wildchild! and introducing Wolfcub!

Sabretooth is back from the dead, having reattached his head back onto his body by throwing himself into the M'kraan Crystal, and ready for round two million! Meanwhile, our favorite Lupines are questing for a way to restore mutant powers in the MU (the M'kraan Crystal has a waiting list), and it involves retrieving Destiny's Diaries! But will they be able to handle the truth inside the diaries themselves? The only way to restore powers is by injecting Lupine serum into the depowered mutants. Howl! Finally, the mystery and origin behind the Weapon X Progam will be revealed! And its going to be Lupinetastic!

And when all is said and done, the MU will NEVER be the same again! In 2009 look forward to a new series, Wolverine: Lupine Origins, which will continue the story and add much more depth and personality to the underused Wolverine.

Go get your Lupine on!!

Yes, it would be the Scarlet Witch Hunt of the 21century...if your kid just a hairy bastard? Or is he LUPINE!!!!!!!!!! Underarm hair at age 3? Possible Lupine. Call Wolverine and the Lupine Avengers and they'll take your kid to the Lupine School for Gifted Hairy Bastards...Youngsters. They fight for a world who hate and fear hair.
