I saw this on http://gametrailers.com. Looks like a very open area fighting game where each "arena" is about a two block radius of completely destructible environment. The characters you can see confirmed so far are:
Doctor Doom
Captain America
Spider-man
The Hulk
Juggernaut
The cool thing about the city level shown is that it is a living environment with cars driving down the street and pedestrians running for cover. The graphics look good so far as well.
I think they said it will ship in around a year. Definitely a 2008 release.

This is what I wanted Marvel Nemesis to be.
Man, after Icon, I thought this team could do nothing right, but they may redeem themselves with this game.

Cool, a Power Stone-type game with Marvel characters? I might be up for it.

After Marvel Nemesis and Def Jam Icon, I have no faith in EA's ability to make a fighting game

I like the wide open arena type stage for a fighting game. Has that been done before? I'm not talking something like a FPS, for a pure hand to hand fighting game.

But Power Stone did it best.

Looks cool, and even though it's still in production, I'm not liking the costumes for Dr. Doom, Juggernaught, and Cap. Unless they're going for more of a 60's 70's look and have alternate costumes available. And it seems like half the game play will be watching people fly through the air :(. And how is it that Cap can kick Hulk through a building?

All of EA's games aren't good. The only thing they have going for them are sports games. I wish Marvel would find someone else to make their fighting games.

Can you name a few, cuz I haven't played any that I'm aware of. I'm talking about hand to hand, open arena type games. Not turn based RPG fighters.

If you count Shaolin Monks (my favorite MK game).

They seemed to emphasized showing the “I smash you through crap/I punch you an exaggerated distance” part of the game, as though they would attract people based on that alone. Kids will perhaps be intrigued by that element, but not I. I’d rather see linked moves or something more intricate. Then again, a game could never be so superficial, right? I mean, it must at least be better than Nemesis, no?
And while Juggernaut looks a wee bit off in design, it could be worse…

Doom looks very chunky, though. I don’t think that design could get any worse - unless they boob him up like they did with Ultron.
I hope this game doesn’t suck, but if it does, I worry not, as my fighting game fix will be sated with Smash Bros. Brawl. If this game fails to be playable, it will even further promote the reasoning to give back the Marvel license to Capcom. I know I’d buy what ever system offered Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

I don't think it'll be a good fighter, strictly speaking. But it could be a fun game.

EA has dissappointed me before with it's uninspiring Marvel Nemisis: Rise of the Imperfects game so I think I'll wait and see.
It looks promising but I know that I should know better. Plus I got alot games on my mind that will need my undivided attention, such as, Stranglehold, COD4, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Lair, and Rainbow Six Las Vegas.
Call me when Activision and Marvel start making it long over due X-men Legends 3 and another Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

Looked alright but the preview was way to early on for me to be intrested when there's more meat to the bones I might gain more intrest.

Since they've closed their doors I guess their sequel to Marvel Nemesis- Rise of The Imperfects has been canned as well.
I can't think of a single good fighting game made by western companies. And gods no Mortal Kombat doesn't count. It'd be nice to find out if these games still sell enough for Capcom or Sega or even Namco to get into the action.
Glad it's canceled. Western fighting games are all crap.

I still long for a Super Smash Bros. esque Marvel fighting game. No Capcom, no original characters... just Marvel guys and loads of extras.
