View Full Version : Commission Sketch of Huntress
A few months back I was browsing the internet for a sketch or artwork based on the Marvel comic book heroine Elektra when I came across this site:
http://www.ukosmith.com/conventionsketches.htm
I was really impressed so I contacted the artist and asked him if he did comissions and if he would do one of Huntress for me. He told me yes, and I just received the final version of it last week. I thought that he did a good job. Which I thought that I would share with you:

When I asked him to do it for me, I asked him to do one which would capture Huntress' strength, dignity and yet make her very feminine. And he actually did better than I thought he would. I really am truly impressed.
I wanted to share this with you not only because he did such a great job. But because I strongly believe in supporting people who put out a quality product. Uko is open to doing commision work and can be contacted through this e-mail address: kenyattadesign@yahoo.com
There are more sketches at Uko's site. And he does a variety of topics including stuff which is erotic/lascivious nature (ie. nude women). However that's not all he does, and is seems to have a knack for synthesising your ideas and making it work on paper.

Me personally, I usually prefer the black and white sketches to the colored one. Not sure why. But this is the exception to the rule. I really like his colors.

I love that.
And I do think he manages to capture a number of different qualities of Huntress.
Also, I love her hair. But I sort of have this thing about comic book heroines' hair and ... Yeah, ok: I need help.
Anyway, great piece. Thanks for sharing.

Even a small error with coloring can ruin the effect of the piece. By contrast, B&W sketches are incomplete, but I think your brain sort of patches in the missing information.
Not that any of this applies here. That Uko sketch is gorgeous, colored or uncolored. Thanks for sharing, Mia.

Uko's a great guy and is usually around at cons like Pittsburgh and Mid Ohio and he was at Heroes last year as well. He probably does more shows than that but that's where I always see him.
If you look at his convention sketches the Titania, Hyperion, Katana and Spiral were done for some of the guys I travel with.

Wow, and I thought only Ed Benes & the fine folks at WB Animation could make me like (or at least tolerate) that outfit.
Nice stuff.
Why was the sketch removed? Is this a policy of CBR?

I still see the sketch, Mia!
Is it missing for anyone else?

It's still there for me, but I can't see my feet.

When I checked on this thread yesterday (from another computer) the sketch was not there. It's there now. Strange. Anyway here's a Wonder Woman sketch from his site.
