Blue Beetle #18 brings the funny

Did anyone else pick this up? I'm really loving this book right now, its just fun, witty, and charming all rolled into one.

I read this thinking by the solicits this was gonna be a titans crossover story arc. I thought this issue was awful. The art was real bad and distracting. Also things like some of the Titans fighting Blue Beetle made no sense to me. Since Robin knew who he was and even Batman was involved with the whole rocket launch. Blaah Blaah this stunk.

The dialogue was great, as usual. the art was cool. The guest artist (whose name escapes me) has a great style. I'd love to see him do a Titans arc.

And of course the Beetle/Titans fight made no sense. That's why they stopped.

Another fun issue. Kind of formula-driven - heroes meet, brief misunderstanding, team up to defeat villain who then wanders off - but Rogers definitely makes this stuff work. I wasn't a fan of the fill-in artist, actually, but Albuquerque's stuff is getting better all the time.

Hopefully it gets a bit of a sales boost.

Robin wasn't there when the fight started. Beetle saw the flying chicks in the impractical costumes and assumed they were sent by the Reach. Which, yeah, is an improbable coincidence, but superhero comics are built on that sort of thing.

I loved it, great series so far, and this was a great issue. Also loved Brenda going on about how hot the girls were, and how it's not fair. Nice sometimes to be reminded that most women, even in comics, aren't perfect in body and complexion.

I almost didn't give this series a try when it started but I'm so glad I did since I've loved every issue and this one was no exception. This is one of the best books I get every month

at this point, I'd read a Paco and Brenda book. They rock!
