Ever since Green Lantern Corps Recharge re-launching the GL Mythos all the way to the recent Sinestro Corps War, Gibbons has scribed for almost two years now.
What do you think of his run so far on GLC ? What are the pros and cons ?

His run's been great. I love the new characters, and the way he writes older characters. And how he subtley brought back the Empire of Tears Prophecy from early on in the series, well before we saw any kind of hint of a Sinestro Corps War. And Gleason's art has been pretty good, very gritty, but very fitting for Dave's storytelling, which has also been pretty grisly. Case in point, Arkillo cover in blood and eating part of a dead Green Lantern.
I hope we get more space police, buddy cop stuff after the Sinestro Corps War, though, because it's been a pretty gruesome book so far; wouldn't mind seeing some toned down police stories in the future.

Up until the Sin Corps War it was average at best, now it's amazing and everything that a GLC title should be.

I agree. As I posted on another thread, I liked Recharge, but I thought the ongoing book was mediocre until issue 10 when the prelude to the Sinestro Corps War started. It's now gotten very good, and given how Gibbons subtely planted story seeds in the first six issues of the series (7-9 were by a different writer), I've forgiven the more lame issues that preceeded the current ones. Can't wait to see what's in store next.

I loved the myth of the GLC being brought back in the DCU. It's good to see Guy and Kilowog used on a regular basis. The Sinestro Corps War is great. And having a black ops GLC team on the outskirts of the DCU was great also.
It's a good time to be a Green Lantern fan thanks to books like this.

I just have a question on a GL Corps from a few issues ago. It was the one that involved the Black Ops GL Corps. Did this exist in the old stories of the GL Corps prior to the GL Corps re-launch last year?

No, that was all Keith Champagne's idea. He's supposed to be doing a mini-series about the Corpse soon, too.

That's good to know. I definitely want to read Champagne's work on the black operations Green Lantern Corps.

Boy what a time for me to stop reading comic books over the summer. I missed the Sinestro Corps War.
Would you say Gibbon was in top form during this classic storyarc ?

I'd say EVERYONE was. :)
Peter Tomasi is now writing GLC, but I really liked Gibbons' work.

Thanks for the info Don. I thought Tomasi was going to take over Nightwing from Wolfman a few months ago. What book is Gibbons set to take over after his work on GLC if I may ask ?

I think Tomasi is taking over Nightwing with the next issue, too. No idea what Gibbons is doing next. I hope he gets to continue writing stuff for the Green Lantern titles, though. Maybe he'll write a Quarterly or Annual soon.
