okay, some void has come into my comic buying list and I was wondering, which DC book people consider the best written these days. Might consider buying it. I suppose Flash would be a good idea?
Not vertigo, but in the mainstream side.

Paul Dini's Detective Comics. Especially if you liked Batman: The Animated Series.

Eh depends.
All Star Superman is fantastic, though it comes out bi-monthly I think. But Grant Morrison and Frank Quietly make it a good read.
Superman itself is really good, and Busiek has put together a great storyarc and made his run one of the best Superman has had in a long time.
Detective Comics written by Paul Dini is very good and fun too, though there are several filler issues from other writers/artists, though the current one isn't too bad.
Blue Beetle is extremely fun, and definately one of my favorites, not to mention it is relatively new as well.
Those would be my top four suggestions.

Which books do you like now?
The best DC series that I read currently:
Checkmate
JSA
Blue Beetle
Green Lantern/GL Corps
Easily Jonah Hex, folowed very closely by the wonderful Mystery in Space mini from a few months ago.

Checkmate is my personal favorite. I am also currently enjoying Birds of Prey, Detective Comics, Batman, The All-New Atom, and Booster Gold. I'm not getting Flash, so I can't comment on that series.

Seconded. Closely followed by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely's All Star Superman.

I'm not being facetious when I say you should spend a few minutes around a spinner rack checking out what catches your eye.
I second Jonah Hex (except for that horrible last issue with Edison). :evilangry

JSA,under Geoff Johns, has been five star.
Likewise,Geoff's work on Green Lantern has been outstanding,as well.
Birds of Prey was very strong under Gail.Have high hopes for it under Sean.
I quite enjoy Checkmate by Greg Rucka,as well.
Those would be my top four, presently.
