The vid for the engineer comes out on Tuesday. IGN also has some in-game footage of TF2.

Team Fortress + Half Life 2 + HL2: Episode 1 = Teh Awesome Sauce

Buy the Orange Pack.

"And then he marched them on toa boat, and then he beat the crap out of every single one."

I downloaded that sucker a week back, and even my fiance loves it.

Actually, the equation is Team Fortress + Half Life 2 + HL2: Episode 1 + HL2:Episode 2 + Portal =Teh Awesome Sauce.

So the Sauce is actually two levels more Awesome than previously believed.

I'm glad I held off buying HL2/Ep1 for so long. Now I get them as part of a sweat deal :D

Anyone know if 360/PC players will be fighting against each other? I really, really hope not...

Pretty sure that's a "no."

You just made my head explode, and when it did, Awesome sauce came gushing out of my neck.

I'm really looking foward to this, because I am waaay too poor to afford a PC capable of running HL:2, and as fun as the Xbox version was, it didn't include the extra episodes.

If you preorder the Orange Box, you'll get access to the TF2 beta on 9/17 and save $5 from the original $49.99 price.

Oh, and the "Meet the Engineer" video is also online. It's my favorite of the three.

I'm getting really pumped for this game. I'm looking forward to mastering the Pyro. The Demoman looks fun too.

The pyro is worthless in the current TF2 build. Not totally unexpected, seeing as he sucked ass in TFC.

As long the scout is 10 times better in close combat, the pyro has no reason to exist. Oh, and his flamethrower is puny, more like a squirt gun filled with lighter fluid.

Yeah, the Steam forums are full of "Why the pyro sucks" threads. Maybe Valve will take note and buff the class before the official release.

The other problem is that most severs have a ridiculous 15-second respawn time. Why play as a crappy pyro who's easily killed when faced with a stiff death penalty?

Until the pyro's role is more specifically defined, I don't know how he should be buffed. Valve designates the pyro as an offensive class, though he's actually best as a defender. I say this because the only way to get kills is by ambushing enemies as they turn corners. This limits you to standing around in a few areas of the map. Clearing out a capture point with a pyro is impossible because you die within seconds.

And the flamethrower, the name be damned, doesn't throw flames at all. Consider it an extended melee weapon. Fine, it's for close quarters. But if I want to excel at CQ combat, I'll pick a scout; his scattergun and high speed make him absolutely deadly up close.

In TFC, the pyro was designed to confuse and annoy the living hell out of the enemy. A skilled pyro could force the enemy to deploy SGs just to keep him at bay. Those two SGs represented two less soldiers or Heavies attacking your SGs, so the trade-off was quite good. TFC's pyro also had a flame cannon (it could burn through walls), allowing him to disrupt snipers and campers.

This game is the goods, and so is the Pyro.
