As I am sure we all know Vic Sage, The Question is dead...
(Well, he was until Earth-4 turned up.. anyhow..)
Renee Montoya became the question after Vic's death.
However, what has she done since then?
Does she use a Pseudoderm mask?
Is she popular with readers as Question?
Has she got the whole 'conspiracy theory' thing going on?
Last but by no means least.. Will Vic be back?

However, what has she done since then?
Not muc. She's the main character in the upcoming Crime Bible miniseries
Does she use a Pseudoderm mask?
Yes.
Is she popular with readers as Question?
I'm one of the biggest Vic Sage fans out there and I like Montoya as the Question. I think Vic's death was well handled in 52 and I'm unterested to see what happens next wit Renee.
Has she got the whole 'conspiracy theory' thing going on?
not sure just yet.
Last but by no means least.. Will Vic be back?
Given that Earth-4 is around, I'd say we'll see a version of Vic soon enough.

Are they killing off Ditkos characters for a reason?
Big mistake to kill of Vic, no one can take his place, but they changed him a lot in the stupid miniseries some yeras ago so maybe he was done.
Look how popular he was when he was in the JLU animated series, DC have not given him a real chanse, a lot of people was suddenly intrested in Vic, because he is so different, and now they want to try with another person, makes no sense at all.
The 80-s series is har to top with anything, this is a dead end.
Bring the real Vic back or kill of the character name totally.
I hate everything about this, this keeping the name but change the person behind the mask, come up with new stuff instead, we know how it ends, with failure and some extremly stupid story about the old hero comming back again.

Vic wasn't really at all like Ditko's question, just to chime in here. He was almost all Denny O'Neill, except for the imagery... which Montoya has preserved, as well.

they changed him a lot in the stupid miniseries some yeras ago so maybe he was done.If anything, that stupid miniseries brought the character a bit closer to his origins after Denny O'Neil pretty made up an antirely new character that looked exactly like The Question. Have actually you read any Ditko Question?
The 80-s series is har to top with anything, this is a dead end.It was good, but ther wasn't anything Ditko about it.
I hate everything about this, this keeping the name but change the person behind the mask, come up with new stuff instead.Rebooted/reimagined old stuff always outsells new stuff by a significant factor. Do you know many succesful, original characters that have been around for less than 30 years?

I'm just afraid that, knowing DC, they'll take away all the worlds in the big violent Final Crisis before they can tap an ounce of the multiverse's story potential. Then we wouldn't get any Vic Sage in his natural habitat, or any old-school Black Adam, or Naziworld, and I'll never read DC comics more or less ever again.

Yes i have read the Ditko stuff, there is not much of it anyway, but he created the character even if Oneil made something else with him, it still was a very good run.
Not many new characters with old names have survived that long either, well Flash of course has made it for a long time but most of the other new Green Lanters, Green Arrows etc. is second rate characters today to the original comming back again.
And the tired forced storys about them comming back is up again, yellow monsters and new bodys well whatever.
(i ignore golden age here, but a lot of them is still around too)

O'Neill's Question was very different to Ditko's, but I'm nto sure Ditko's version of the character would have succeeded in the late-80's. I think O'Neill made a godd choice with the direction he took Vic in. For me, the Question is one of the top 10 DC series of the 80's.
Viech's recent version of Vic could be seen as an extension of O'Neill's version, having moved on from Eastern mysticism to shamanism (something that was explored a little in O'Neill's series).
The DC Animated version, while a little closer to Ditko's version, is still a very different character. However, I don't think that it would have been possible to move the Question in that direction without it seeming a little forced, or invalidating O'Neill's work.
Anyway, I think the multiverse is here to stay. DC and Didio seem to be really keen on the idea. Using Earth-4 will enable DC to have a Question possibly closer to Ditko's or the animated version, while continuing the Montoya story at the same time. Personally, I don't see a problem with that.

However, what has she done since then?
She recently appeared in Countdown and will be starring in the upcoming miniseries The Crime Bible: The Five Lessons of Blood, which starts in October. It is also written by Greg Rucka and will continue her story from 52.
Does she use a Pseudoderm mask?
Yes, as shown in her first appearance in 52 #48.
Is she popular with readers as Question?
I think that she is a great character and have enjoyed reading about her since her days on Batman: The Animated Series. A great number of fans apparently think so too, as she was voted by the readers of Wizard Magazine as their favorite comic book heroine in the Wizard fan awards.
Has she got the whole 'conspiracy theory' thing going on?
No, but the comic book Vic Sage didn’t really either. The “conspiracy nut” Question was a concept created for the animated series and was based more on Rorschach from Watchmen, who in turn was based on the Question.
Last but by no means least.. Will Vic be back?
I doubt that Vic will be back anytime soon, and certainly not while Dan Didio is still in charge of DC. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an Earth-4 version of Vic Sage in some story though.
