they thinking of putting a seperating Raiting for the ONLINE portion of the game. And putting that raitig along side the box, with the in gamming

The thing is how do you rate online game namely, when your kind of at the mercy of the Ahole public. And does it curb the fun of the games where you got to watch yourself more.

I mean I hear the n word A LOT on most online shooter. Normaly by teenage white kids, with names like RAGHEADKILLER, and ****hater.

But is that s*** really the programer fault. If someone want to spraypaint a PENIS on a racing car, should the racing game maker get in trouble

an putting an AO on a game is a punishment. Cause some stores wont sale your game i they do that. I mean If I doing a regular shooter and racing car, and not a MANHUNTER game, I figure my ass is safe to having a Teen raiting or at the most MATURE.

Dont think they expect an AO raiting just cause someone want to paint "I love penis" on their create a charcter shirt

Hey, it's the same reasoning upon slapping an AO rating on GTASA because an user-created mod managed to bring up a deleted part of the game.

online games should allow a lot of freedom by default, then the moderators should set up their own rules when creating a server

People playing such games online and getting offended at the developers because someone calls em names..this is about the stupidest thing ever heard in all the gaming history

You cant rate a online game because it changes due to the players and you cant regulate or put a label on how folks will act when playing the game.

So to me putting a normal rating on a game for the actual content put into the game by the developers and then saying "gameplay may change online" is all you can realistically expect from a company.

You really cant hold a developer responsible for every little thing. Its like making a warning label for a bottle of beer or a car with the list of the 549 million things that can go wrong when used improperly that the manufacturer or brewer is held responsible for putting on there.

Depends on the game.
Warcraft has a profanity filter, but you can get a temp ban for using profanity.
....jerks.

FFXI had one of those too, but it only filtered out the "F" word. Anything else went right on through.

I figure the names are a good indicator of whether or not it's a game I'd be interested in spending time with.

If "RagheadKiller" can get past the character creation censor, chances are I wouldn't want to have anything to do with it.
