OK ok...cuz nooo one is talking about this, i would like to bring it up. the recetn batman/superman comic pretty much is know about darksied, and what he is up to.

in the series we figure out, darksied has daseed, and probally other people me on earth doing stuff. They have teamed up with a human
(crane, but hes probally not the only human they teamed up with). hes made a huge flying planet for him to live on. And darksied is getting clumbsey. and hes able to baciscly control anyone.(superman)

from those facts i have 2 questions.

Do you guys think this will tie into countdown? because if it does it might act as a prelude to what ever darksied is doing?

and also what do you guys think darksied is planing to do? attack earth? attack new genisis?

im sorry in the title i ment to say darksied not new gods.

Superman/Batman has always been pretty standalone in concern to other books or the main characters core books. And given that almost everything concerning Countdown is advetised to Hell, which this book isn't, it's probably all just a standalone story.

Superman/Batman takes place on a different Earth than 'new earth'

Superman/Batman takes place on a different Earth than 'new earth'

The new incarnation of Supergirl originated in the pages of Batman/Superman. And she is now in the mainstream DC Universe. Although granted this was before the 52 weekly series and prior to Jeph Loeb's departure from DC. Batman/Superman occurs on the regular DC Universe. But it is just not taken into consideration these days. I mean look at the creative teams placed on it.

ok first of all it takes place on new earth
second of all i thought it went into the main time stream because the metal men arc said, it was the first apperance of the metal men, and that its the starting of the metal men. so i thought it was main stream comic time.

Superman/Batman is in-continuity. Where the events fit, I don't know, but they do... somehow. Supergirl came from the title, there was an issue around Superboy's death, and it showcased the new Metal Men. I'm fairly sure that's what Superman was referencing in a Superman issue a few months back when he said "my adventures with Batman" or something similar in regards to what he had dealt with recently.

That said, I haven't actually read the latest issue to tell whether or not it has anything to do with Countdown. Given that it's not stated as a tie-in, I'll say no, but they might surprise me.

^I was kidding.

The stories are so ridiculous and it's so inconsistent with the rest of the DCU that I like to pretend it takes place on another earth.

ok it is in real time, the last issue is a main tie in to countdown. SO HA, it is a important comic!

...I despise this comic yet I may have to pick it up if anything remotely important to Darkseid happens in it.

SUPERMAN/BATMAN #42
Written by Alan Burnett
Art and cover by Dustin Nguyen & Derek Fridolfs
Batman's not happy, Superman's being controlled, Bekka's hot for Batman, and Darkseid succeeds! It's the final chapter of Alan Burnett's epic "Torment." If you're reading COUNTDOWN, you can't miss this issue!

Could just be some money-grabbing tactic, but there you go.

Other than Supergirl, I don't think this book is really connected to the DCU at all, regardless of the Countdown tie-in.

I'm sure this book has its fan base, but it seems to be dismissed by hardcore Superman, Batman and continuity purists.

It also seems dismissed by its own publisher.

Over the years, I've skimmed through a few issues and the stories seemed "almost fun", but the choices of writers and artists (Loeb and McGuinness) always pushed the book away from me.

wen the series started it was amazing. the first arc of the series, public enemies, is in the top 30 graphic novels from dc ever published.( the top 30 was made by dc, not some random people.)

but lately its not that good. the metalmen arc was horrible.
