In the last issue Dr. Gotham created a volcano in the city of the Chicago--I wonder if this was reflected in any other book--possibly killing thousands of people not with lava but with poisonous ash. But many more are saved as we see in this issue by the Shadowpact, Superman, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl, and Zatanna.
Meanwhile in Hell it is revealed that the Blue Devil's older brother Jack sold his soul first, throwing in Danny's and their sisters Mary's as incentives.
At a Gotham City church Blue Devil is meet by Father Martin Aquistapace, a specialist on exorcisms. To prove his worth Blue Devil is charged with 13 labors ala Hercules. The first of which is to stop the army of warrior magicians heading toward Earth. And he must do it alone.
I thought it was a great issue. Anyone else pick it up?

Shadowpact has been reasonably solid since it launched; the first arc was a bit shaky, but it sorted out quickly. Since then, it's been one of the most fun-to-read books on my pull list.
The current arc has been enjoyable; the visual of Danny's lawyer (honestly, the simple brilliance of a lawyer in HELL) making his case in front of a panel of Lower Demons was absolutely priceless. It's been cool to see Eve get more creative with her shadow powers; if Enchantress could only get her hat back to go with the new costume (love the cleavage outfit), I would have absolutely no complaints about the book.

I'm also loving the solid superheroics and the different mix of character types. The Blue Devil plotline is intriguing (it doesn't feel like a Swamp Thing rehash), and I love the grand use of Nightshade's power. Good stuff - hope the book lasts.
Detective Chimp needs to go back to his Sherlock Holmes-style duds, or something pulpy looking. I don't like the superhero costume. Agreed with the Enchantress witch hat.
And ultramandingo, perhaps Father Aquistapace will become just that villain you were talking about. Something's not right about him.

The Vatican vs. Shadowpact? Interesting.
What might make it REALLY interesting would be if Equus IV was brought into that mix. Father Leone isn't a mystical figure (more techno-organic, really), but the Vatican could still claim command authority over him, and force him into a battle that served their ends. Unlikely, but it's be cool to see.
