Wow. I'm speechless.
This guy was in a really, really bad position. (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,293054,00.html)
I just can't believe what an asshole some people can be. What would get accomplished through giving a toy maker leaded paint?

It's not just toys though:
It was among the largest recalls in recent months involving Chinese products, which have come under fire for globally for containing potentially dangerous high levels of chemicals and toxins.
Aren't you glad we keep importing from and outsourcing production to China?

This is the risk we take when everyone wants a 10$ toaster. If we want better standards and quality, be prepared to pay for it. The pricing on toys is so brutal with retailers squeezing manufacturers to keep low margin price points and Manufacturers in turn squeezing factories to keep prices, this kind of corner cutting is going to happen.

In short, it's what may be called the "Wal Mart Squeeze".

Yeah let's see an American CEO respond to screw up of that magnatude with that kind of solution.
It's obvious that it was regret and shame that caused him to do this?
Blame China? No, as the other gentleman pointed out (Edit: Mac Danny). . . you wanna a $10 toaster, that's what your gonna get. If you don't want China importing/America outsourcing . . . then buy American made.
Whatever the belief . . . my sympathies to his family.

Or rather, if that particular practice were common in America...

In China, it's all about getting things done as cheaply as possible, no matter who gets screwed in the process.
I should know: I'm Chinese. I'm all too familiar with my kinsmen's cultural bad habits.

If only coorporate guys in America had the sack to hang themselves over stuff like this, we'd see less crap like Enron.

Yeah, the food guy also "committed suicide". I wonder if the next Chinese official to screw up/get caught will "commit suicide" too?
