They should send some of that weed my way. I've been THC-free since the 8th.
Can't wait to get back home on Tuesday.
It was 2 weeks. I couldn't believe it. They usually just smoke up once every couple months or so. The stench was horrid. Almost like they were smoking gym socks.
Oh, and some chowderhead fire bombed my apartment building last week too. They used furnace oil in the molotov though.

Some minor bits of drama that seem to be resolved. Gail posted on Rita's. Doug and Rita are pregnant. Joe and Alex took CBReaks, but I think they're both back now. Winslow may now be on a break. Pho is getting married. Homer had a birthday. Jesse got ridiculed for various stuff. Same old, same old.

I blame the white folks that moved into this building as they seemingly forced out all the families from North Africa and the Middle East. This place was a hell of a lot safer with them here than with all the white folks.

You mean out of ER retirement?
She was on the first 3 seasons, left the show, then returned for seasons 8-11 (and one or two episodes of season 12).
I never really watched ER, but they've been airing it in syndication 2 episodes a day on TNT and I binged and ended up watching all 12 seasons since March. I just got hooked for whatever reason.

At any rate, with her, Ming-Na Wen and the chick who played Dave's girlfriend on Newsradio, I'd almost consider watching it again.

Maura Tierney (Newsradio) is the only one of those three on the show currently. Though now we have Parminder Nagra (Bend it Like Beckham), Linda Cardellini (Freaks and Geeks), and Busy Phillips (Freaks and Geeks). So if you liked Freaks and Geeks . . .
Oh and Darlene from Roseanne's on it too . . . . though that's not really a reason to watch the show.

Point. Nowadays I enjoy killing on video games. I'm waiting for another chance. It dawns on me occasionally that I'm killing representations of human beings with no regard for their digital little lives........what's happened to me? I should feel bad for killing so many without remorse....well I guess that's the "without remorse" part eh? What the fuck am I typing? Is anyone reading this? I should just go to sleep now. Hi Ritalins.
I have come to the conclusion that Sarah is secretly a diabolical genius.
I found out on Friday that I'm definitely getting a bonus on the 31st, and that it's more than I was hoping for. Sarah and I always split said bonus every month to get extraneous stuff we want. So I told Sarah how much we were getting.
Then on Saturday, we headed out to Harrisonville for her mother's wedding, where her mom request us to go to Wal-Mart to pick up a thank you card for the minister that will be presiding(I later learn that this was all part of the plan). So we go there and get the card, and Sarah insists on driving to a set part outside the store and "wait to meet somebody." Ten minutes later, a red van pulls up, and Sarah pulls out a bunch of money. I ask her where she got all of it, and she mentions she took out a Payday loan to be repaid when my bonus check comes in(her half). I ask her what's going on, and she tells me to just wait. The van opens up, and there's a twelve-week-old fawn pug puppy inside.
So within a 24 hour period, Sarah 1) took out a payday loan on her half of the bonus check, 2) found a pug she could afford with that money, and 3) arranged for us to pick up that puppy on the same day and place where her mom's wedding was going to be, and 4) all without my knowing.
If that puppy wasn't so damned cute, I'd be pissed.
Oh, and she caught the bouquet at the wedding, too.

Thanks, man. As long as she uses her powers for good, we'll be fine. We've named the puglet Lucky, and she's adorable. Sarah insists that it was in large part luck, as the lady with the pug was already coming to Harrisonville that day to give another puppy to someone else. In any case, she is absolutely priceless(Lucky and Sarah both). I'll post some pictures when I'm able.

At a recent wedding, I caught the bouquet with no intention of doing so. I guess I was standing there and my inner she-jock couldn't resist the snag.
We saw Superbad on Saturday. I really enjoyed it, but I did think the cop stuff was a bit extraneous. I love Seth Rogan, so I didn't mind his over-indulgence too much. But hey, I guess you can't blame the guy. If you get your years-in-the-making screenplay to film, why not take the opportunity to give yourself some of that spotlight action.

First day of school for my kids. I was going to drop my daughter off at her first day of kindergarten, but at the last minute, my wife put the kibosh on that idea. She suddenly realized that in 20 years, her little girl would see the pics of her first day of kindergarten and my wife couldn't stand the thought of not being in them.
So, I took my boy to pre-school instead. He went there last year, but only 2 half-days a week. This year, it's 5 half-days.
My wife suddenly has some time on her hands in the morning. Funny thing is, she called me already and said she teared up when she saw a mom in there with her baby. She told me, "I don't have my little shoppers with me anymore!"

Stupid question though: Can you rename one of the components? I had to help set up the office network in my previous job....and I was in charge of security...anyway, many of the PCs and printers were named the same initially and that solved the problem when we renamed them all. Saw "The Simpsons" movie this weekend. Liked it a lot. Great sight gags across the board.
I'm pulling back on my recommendation of Blockbuster's on-line service. Surprise, suprise, they've bumped the cost a dollar and went from 4 movies to 3. They drop it down to $16.99 if you only do 5 movie exchanges at the store instead of unlimited. Pass.
I also saw my ex-wife to be found every check for the last six years made out to buy comics or to rent tables at cons and is entering them as trial exhibits. I get to testify about comics dealing I assume for a couple of hours. Yippee!

So now I get to spend the next two days working on an impossible configuration. And when asked on Wednesday I'll have to say:
"I can't do it."
You obviously don't have the "can-do" attitude that your company is looking for. You need to create new paradigms and think out of the box while being a team player. Get on the same page as your company's leadership team.
Would anyone else like to add some bullshit corporate euphemisms to motivate Dread?

Changing names would be. . . bad.
Not only would I have to change the name of the new machine completely redo the whole configuration around the new name, I'd have one week to put it back the way it was. The names are referenced by our users. The new machine MUST have the same names as the old machine. So while I can change the names on a temporary basis, I MUST return to the original names for the migration. That means I'd have to redo the configuration twice.
All of which I can do. Painfully as pulling fingernails, but I can do it.
But you know that guy that ambushed me this morning? If I told him I could do it by temporarily renaming the new CPU?
He'd have a heart-attack.

Platitude Man says: "When the going gets tough, the tough get going."
You could draw a picture of a guy over a faulty server yelling: "You don't have to be crazy to work here, but it helps!"

Well, table costs at a con like Baltimore, Orlando, Detroit, New York, etc. are going to be high. $600 or so. Smaller cons (for three or four tables) are somewhere in the $200 to $250 range. I usually made enough in cash comic sales to cover table costs, pay for gas and transportation, and bring some back home, profits of which I split fifty-fifty with wifey. It's a desperate ploy to say the least, but if they want to waste hours of the judge's time on comic book dealer economics, feel free.

I suppose. I won't get into all the particulars, but compared to my wife draining joint bank accounts and home equity lines to the tune of $75,000, and buying cars, a piano, plane tickets to Europe, and a secret house in the District of Columbia with her parents without my knowledge or permission, I doubt the judge is going to bitchslap me over comic books and eBay.
Just a hunch.
And it gets better. While talking to my bank this morning, I discovered she also had a secret business bank account at my bank in MY NAME which she put all the proceeds from her visa-defying dance business in. (She has a diplomat visa and can't earn money outside of her employment). Liquidated that this morning, and it felt good. Wasn't much, but it was only in my name, so that's that.
