I loved Adam Warren's very sexy, very funny, and very weird Dark Horse OGN EMPOWERED... so, how is his IRON MAN mini-series? Worth getting?

I'm not an Iron Man fundamentalist, so "It's a weird/new/wrong take on the character" is not a turn-off.

I liked it, it was pretty quirky and had a Good amount of pseudo-IT which really sold the premise.

I have the first three issues, and I really enjoyed them. The writer (Adam Warren) has a real penchant for the tech-lingo and the technology is a significant part of the story from what I have read. For some reason, at my LCS I never saw #4-6 on the shelf, and they claim they sold out... (I don't think they were bringing in many copies, truth be told). So, I have them ordering the trade paperback when it comes out. That's the only reason I "stopped" where I did.

And yes, "It's a weird/new/wrong take on the character"... and that is a good thing. Actually, he writes a good Stark... talking about his three addictions; and his voice is consistent with the billionaire playboy we know and love. I don't believe it has necessarily been stated that this is "out of continuity" (or "in" for that matter)... and from what I have read, it could be a "unnamed timeframe" adventure for Tony Stark. It wouldn't 'have time' to fit in with WWH, Mighty Avengers, and Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. stories, necessarily (then again, those stories are kind of all squashed together anyways, right?). Still, it is 'post-Extremis' and other than that, just a really fun story. Well, I've read half of it (so far)... but I say check it out.

If it's anything like LIVEWIRES, I'm definitely in for the digest.

I'll admit I sort of passed on this. There was already so much Iron Man stuff as it is that was actually relavent to the present storylines. I'm almost at the point of Iron Man overload... though I'll certainly check it out in digest or trade form down the line.

I understand the feeling.

I remember this came out right after Civil War. I wasn't even sure if it would be Tony Stark in the armor. So i was a bit impatient to just want marvel to get out the primary Iron Man post-Civil war material.

I'm curious to see what other people here have to say about it because I may need to go back and check it out.

Again, I think they should have either put it out during Civil War or held back on it a little. Unless it tied in more directly to standard continuity than i thought it did.
