Sometimes I really, really love Marvel.

We go from a more or less 3/4 year Doom absence to Doom being a major villain in one of Marvel's flagship titles (Mighty Avengers), what is soon to be one of Marvel's flagship titles (Millar's Fantastic Four) and now he gets a mini where he fights one of the most major characters in the marvel universe right now.

It's gonna be a good year for Doomfans. :evilsmile

Maybe even enough to redeem the resurgence of the Bushy Tailed One and her infamous misdeed in that Deadpool/GLI special... :evilangry

Oh no, why would I do that. After all, she never did anything. Just beat some pathetic old, rubbish, rusting Doombot.

And then that same Doombot was repaired and coincidentally there on the day she returned in the specia.

Okay.

OKAY?

THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED!

(And do not speak her name! She Who Must Not Be Named!!!!!!)

She beat up Thanos. I don't think Doom is much of a problem.

Steve Ditko says the Doom defeat is in continuity. And who am I to argue with Steve Ditko?

This sounds like a winner.

Yes, it's in continuity.

Except it was a Doombot, you hear?

She can beat up thanos all she pleases, Thanos cannot hold a candle to the glory that is Doom.

One day, it will go down as Marvel Canon that it was a doombot in that story. On the same day, the Hulk will be executed for war crimes, Iron Man will be completely exonerated and the Osborn stuff proven to be a Skrull, the Initiative will emerge as a heroic organization beyond all others which brings new peace and security to America, Magneto will be accepted as more hero than villain, Squirrel Girl herself will be brutally, gloriously eviscerated and Doctor Doom will become Lord of the Earth.

This will be the sign that there has been a coup in Marvel and Mags now sits in the EiC's Throne.

I am pumped for this! Michelinie is one of the best comic writers ever, and nobody does Iron-Man like he and Bob Layton do. Ron Lim is a solid and affiordable artist that Layton should bring out the best in. This is one of my most anticipated comics, because I am a big proponent of great veteran writers always having the doors open to them.

Wow after a couple of years of having very little interest in Marvel's monthly comics I am being dragged in on loads of things, Planet Hulk is as fun as it gets, Marvel Comics Presents is coming back and Spider-man has some great teams on the horizon.

Now this Dr Doom and Iron Man, by two of the best ?

Definitely going to have to read this comic, as the two are almost natural enemies for eachother in every sense.

I would like to know where all this money is coming from for me to buy these things though....sigh

:evilsmileSometimes I really, really love ya, Mags.

I humbly submit that I would gladly be your court jester if you would have this pathetic fool to grovel at your feet (I can do a pretty good Smithers impersonation on cue, as well). The ceremonial disembowelment of the She Who Must Not Be Named will mark the greatest day in all of history. I too, await the day... oh, Glorious EiC!

Are we related? Same last name and all... just askin'.

This sounds like an excellent project, and having these two return to write Ol' Shellhead is a thing of beauty. If I knew how to go about 'baiting' my breath, it would already be baited... or bated... or bayt... ah, I'm looking forward to this with great fervor!

I've been wanting this for a long time. Nobody handles Iron Man better than Michelinie and Layton. Lim is a good choice for artist. I think Layton's inks will suit him nicely.
