I'm not much of a gamer. I'm definitely the demographic Nintendo was going after with the Wii. I like the very straightforward games that involves competition or just shooting shit. In college I was a huge fan of Super Mario Cart, but absolutely sucked at first person games like Golden Eye. So, yeah, I'm the stereotypical female who's pretty good at racing little cartoon people in carts, but becomes disinterested when the games become an "adventure".

I'm already planning on getting that Super Mario Paper game. Beyond that, what would you recommend?

I don't have a Wii, but you should get The Legend of Zelda: Twillight Princess, WarioWare: Smooth moves, and Rayman Raving Rabbits

I think I heard Nintendo say that the new Mario Cart will be out sometime this year and that it will come with its own Wheel (Wii-el) :p and it will have online play.

You should also check out Mario Galaxy, The new Metroid, and Super Smash Bros. when they come out.

There's nothing that spectacular just yet, but the games I've played and enjoyed:

Mario Party 8, if you like board games and have three friends to play with you.

Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, again, if you like party games.

Sonic the Hedgehog: Secret of the Rings, if you're a fan of the series.

Cooking Mama, if you want a game to pass an hour or two.

Super Paper Mario, a hilarious action-RPG.

You can download one of the Mario Kart games (maybe the N64 version) on your Virtual Console for like $10. As for Wii titles, you might try Cook Mama, Monkey Ball, and Big Brain Academy. Not sure how fun they'd be for playing by yourself, as they're mainly party games.

Twilight Princess, Metal Slug Anthology, Trauma Center: Second Opinion, and Super Paper Mario are all great.

Thats like asking someone if they should see a movie or not to a person who never saw the movie. The others arent out though so no one can say if they are worth getting or not.

Back on topic.

There arent alot must haves right now, but some decent games.
I havent played many but the few I did I enjoyed pretty well.

Mario paper you mentioned was fun.

Trauma center was neat, although has no replay value really.

If you liked the mini games that come with the system there is something called "wii play" that has more mini games.

your tastes in gaming dont fit a lot with what the Wii had to offer til now. Maybe a DS woulda been a better choice, with a much more varied library

anyway, Wario Ware is pretty funny, and should appeal the casual gamers. You can download Mario Kart 64 from the Virtual Console..other than that I wouldnt know what to tell ya

Wii-Fit and Cooking Mama. The only two games a female gamer needs.

Thank you, Nintendo.

Metroid would have to come out first.

I'm already planning on getting that Super Mario Paper game.

If you're serious about getting bored once a game becomes an "adventure" then you probably want to rethink that.

I don't know much about Wii, but I'm sure there are some simple pick and play games that will satisfy your occasional craving.

Super Paper Mario is good times, lots of quirky action/RPG'ing fun.

Hey, Merey

I've got a Wii, and while I'ma guy who used to like the FPS and adventure games a lot, lately I've been to busy with art to play that type of stuff, and have become more like you.

I REALLY enjoy the Wii sports games. Period. Bowling? Hell yeah! Golf? Hell yeah!

BAsically, anything that I can play for 10 minutes, or two hours. Wario Wares is pretty fun too. All of the games that don't require a commitment are what I'm into.

That said, the Wii still doesn't have a lot of great games. But hang in there, I'm sure it will in time.:)

You may also be interested in Godzilla: Unleashed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godzilla:_Unleashed

Even if you have never seen a Godzilla movie in your life, you will have a blast playing this game (that is, if it's anything like the past two games in the series, which it has been described as).

No Japanese monster knowledge required for this pick-up-and-play Monster game.

It's a fighting game, but not in the traditional STREET FIGHTER/ TEKKEN sense. It's more reminiscent of Super Smash Brothers...but with giant Monsters. At least worth a rent.

And remember, I'm talking about a game that hasn't released yet, so unless the designers make some radical gameplay changes, then I stand by my recommendation. But yeah...rent it if anything.
