Fantastic Four Omnibus Vol 1 / Re-release 2007

Comic Shop News had a blurb almost a month ago about intentions by Marvel to re-release some out of print Omnibus collections. Among the titles listed was Fantastic Four Omnibus Vol 1.

Anyone know when the exact date is? I read Summer 2007.

I didn't know FF Vol. 1 was out of print! :confused: So, do we know if it will be a straight re-print or will there be 'extras' to tempt those who bought it the first time around?

Can anyone let me know if this volume has really good stories?

I have Essentials vol.2 and 4 of FF and I really like the stories but I don't know if the FF start out awesome or they get better with the second volume.

Well, the Fantastic Four starts out pretty awesome too actually, so it's well worth owning the stories in Vol. 1.

However, I see that you've got Vol. 2 & 4 of the 'Essentials' which are black & white trade paperbacks and what we're talking about in this thread is Vol. 1 of the Fantastic Four Omnibus. The Marvel omnibuses are great big hardback collections of issues, re-printed in full colour. The FF Omnibus Vol. 1 features issues #1 - 30 plus Annual #1, so I imagine some of those issues are in the Essential Fantastic Four vol. 2.

Since you like the Essential collections and don't mind them being in black & white, I'd just try to pick up Essential Fantastic Four Vol. 1 and not bother with the Omnibus. The essentials are also a lot cheaper than the Omnibuses.
