Now there is still one thing about World War Hulk that I don't understand and that is Namor....
I mean he defended the Hulk against the Illuminati when they were voting to exile him, he warned the group of his return and he even fought Iron Man against the decision.
Speed up into Incredible Hulk #107, where he tells Adameus Cho what he told the Illuminati when Cho went to Atlantis to request for his assistance to aid the Hulk upon his return. He warned his Cousin Namora of what the consequences of her allying with Cho and his co., and he even told Cho how the hulk is back after his queen is dead.
So in truth I REALLY don't understand what Namor's problem with this is ?
I mean does he actually CARE for the Hulk, despite all of the times that they argued during their time as Defenders ?
Does listening to the Hulk lossing his wife and his kingdome remind Namor a little more of himself ?
Would he truly try to help defeat the Hulk when the times come ?
I'm just hoping that someone could help me get over this confusion. :(

I honestly think he sees it as a big case of not his problem. He cares about the Hulk more than he wants to admit, but at the same time he's not going to lift a finger to help him, maybe a little because he's not sure he's right but 99% because he doesn't give a crap*
Why should he? He's king of Atlantis, last time he got involved in surface world conflicts, Atlantis was nearly destroyed. He doesn't care greatly if Hulk wins or loses, he just wants the Hulk- and the heroes- to stay the hell away from his kingdom. Would he help defeat the Hulk? Not unless the Hulk was a threat. Would he help defeat the Illuminati? Not unless they were a threat.
Plus, y'know, helping one side or the other means he has less people to openly be a jerk to. Not that being allied to people as prevented him from being a dick to them before, mind you...

I think his opinion was a big "This is SO going to come back and bite you in the ass!" and now that it did he's basically "See? Told ya so!"
His objection always seemed more pragmatic than moral ("This is not going to work!" rather than "This is wrong!")

Not to mention everyone else in the room was agreed on something so the odds of Namor consenting were not good, it wouldn't work for his image.

Because then he'd have to change his name to "Namor Rocks"?

I'm sure we can petition Mike to do a bit of edititing.
Always loved the personality of Namor. Such a chip on his shoulder about most things.

He's probably grinning right now. "I live under the water". He isn't getting anywhere near this nor helping either side.

For Namor, it is a win/win situation. Hulk has always been an unpredictable and dangerous wild card. In spite of their friendship, he knows that the Hulk's death wouldn't be bad for Atlantis. And, of course, the more surface-people killed, the better.
So, he could antagonize one or the other of the two greatest military powers on the planet, or he could just sit back and eat popcorn while watching them all kill each other. If he's lucky, they'll be enough destruction and enough dead heroes that he can rise up and take over when it is finished.

He was right in accordance to the issue. It played out just like he said it would and just like he said, he's watching it unfold with a smile on his face.

Nice dyme in your avi.
I think Namor couldn't give a crap because as long as he's in the ocean, he's safe. Hulk isn't going to grab some scuba gear and bother Namor since he knows Namor objected to the plan and an Atlantean turned up to support him in Namora.
Namor was right and you can bet he's got a smug grin on his face while his former buddies get their own visages caved in.

Sorry I missed this and I know it's a week later but I have to say-
...This actually made me laugh. Consider yourself among a rare few on these boards :p
I'm not QUITE as argumentative of Namor but yeah, I take the point.
